I am NOT a good speller to begin with & it is so easy to miss your own mistakes. For someone who is NOT a detail person(me), HTML is challenging! and posting threads with a LOT of english major types makes it even tougher. I was a PE & Biology major ... no excuse, I know, but never had the emphasis on the skills for writing

Oh my dear..I remember much cheaper gas, sugar rationing, meat rationing, gas rationing, and worst of all for a girl..shoe rationing.

I remember D Day.

Actually the first car I drove was a Rambler!

Jk had a Rambler when he was going to school. It was an "E-stick".....whatever that means. It was one ugly car...but it got him where he needed to go.

Your trip to DC reminds me that the first time my friends and I went into the city (DC) on our own, we went to see Chubby Checker performing the new dance craze, "The Twist".

Okay, now I really am going to bed. Good night, again.

meg, I love the story my mom & her siblings told of going to the beach as youngsters.

for 7 of them. 5 girls & 2 boys they had one bathing suit.

The would take turns wearing it & playing in water with the others on shore yelling at them to hurry up.

Depression times, they were & their dad died at 42 of cancer. He was a builder & when he died, so did their income at the start of the depression.

I recall seeing pix of them as teens at the beach with their own suits!

I still have a black petticoat with crinoline lined flounce , embroidered in red, to wear under a big skirted "cocktail" or evening dress in the early 50s! It's the only thing I saved.

I just saw the movie Hollywoodland (about George Reeves, the TV superman of 50s).. some of those styles were in it. I rhink one reason I enjoy cinema so much is to see the clothing, hairstyles that are presented from times past

Well, you said you are tired.

If you still have the rambler, pull the little thingie on the front seat and it goes all the way down into a bed!

Kinda hard to really stretch out though.

I just asked JK your question and he reminded me what I had forgotten about his old Rambler. LOL. Funny thing is, he didn't even have to think about it. ;-)

Crossing my fingers all will fall into place for me to get there G...

SO MANY obstacles here for travel now.

At one time.. just packed a bag, put extra liter, water & food down for cats & either drove or flew .. wherever

NOW THOSE WERE THE GOOD OLD DAYS!

Going to bed bump. My Dad's phone is so old, his phone number has peeled off it, and is showing the TW1... number.

Now, to call him, or him me, need to dial ten digits, and only live three miles from each other!!! Damn cell phones!!!!

Now get to sleep!!!!

night!

Sweet dreams

I have been throwing a lot of nostalgia (junk?) away as much has been stored in the basment here at my moms & we have had repeated floods the past couple years. What isn't rusted out & moldy

one thing that went out was the old rotary phone..

I recall our number: ON(ontario)1-8707
