Sure the name of Cousteau is famous. His father made the name famous. That was years ago, but how many young children and old timers like us will yell "Crikey!" now when we are excited about animals.
I don't remember hearing any one yell "Sacre Bleu!"

It just makes a person look small and petty and jealous... small + petty + jealous = French

Actually I know of him because he was in the Finding Nemo movie.

I must say this...I am seriously sad over Steve Irwin's death.
If JC passed away suddenly, I don't think I would even notice. It sounds so cold, but true. Steve was out there and didn't hold anything back - he was so real, and made you feel like you knew him (and his family) even though he was a person on tv.

Ah, just your typical French review.
Irwin accomplished more in his short life than two generations of the Cousteau.
Damn the French!!!!!!!!

Jean-Michel Cousteau is just using this moment in time to pathetically ride Steve's coattail.
Jean-Michel is not nor will never be in Steve Irwin's league.
To: Mr Rogers
I think the appriate (and clean) way to say it is go ahead and experience nature, just don't fool with it.

This guy must be the uncle to Phillipe Cousteau (Jacques Cousteau's grandson) who was with Irwin when he was killed. Here's a link to his comments about Steve, which were totally opposite to those of Jean-Michael's:

Hey Frenchy, maybe if Irwin's family left him a naval fleet and tons of money, he wouldn't have had to actually touch stuff with his own hands either.

Giant-stride off the dive boat & into the food chain. Jean-Michel Cousteau must realize that while he's only 'watching nature', one of Mother Nature's creatures might be sizing him up for lunch. He may want to be passive, but some critter might be controlling the agenda.

Just posted an article about Phillipe Cousteau honoring Irwin. Phillipe was the son of Phillipe Cousteau who was killed in a plane crash. Jean-Michael is probably his uncle.
