R.I.P
Not to worry. All is/was forgiven. ;o) Sad about the other death in that little community. Good to hear the passenger survived. Wear your seat belts folks!!
I missed that. How awful to read about this online/see it on the news about someone you knew.
Prayers for all who knew and loved him.
Oh man. This entire community needs our prayers, and they have mine.
On this thread, perhaps, but it's been on FR and in the news for two days.
Shooter Kimveer Gill was also of Sikh parentage, and had it not been for that ethnic-derived first name, it's unlikely that his webpage would have become public knowledge.
From The National Post Friday September 15, 2006:
Former high school classmates described him as normal -- "nothing out of the ordinary, just a regular high school kid," said Anthony Proce, who, like Gill, graduated from Rosemere High School in 1998.Gill also reportedly drove a black Pontiac Sunfire. I don't know about you, but I'm keeping a close eye on all of the Sikh kids in my neighborhood who drive black Sunfires. Especially the vampires.
Friends said he never dated in high school.
Mr. Proce and others said, far from the impression the six-foot tall Gill left on his Web site, he wasn't the victim of bullying.
"He wasn't a guy that got picked on, not at all -- who picks on a tall, big guy who could kick your ass if you picked on him?" said Dennis Pavia, another classmate who now plays drums for heavy metal band Diecast.
"He didn't dress like a rapper or a Goth or anything like that, more like jeans, T-shirts and sneakers," said Mr. Pavia, who said he usually saw Gill every day at school but wasn't close to him. "I remember Kimveer just being a friendly guy, always smiling. However he came to do something like [the shootings at Dawson] I wouldn't say is because of high school."
Alex Hullar, another former classmate, said he was shocked when he heard Gill's name on the radio yesterday.
"He was a pretty calm, relaxed guy," he remembered. "He had at least eight close friends and they always hung around together in high school. They were all very good students, very good grades."
He said Gill dressed normally, "never a trench coat and all that kind of stuff. I don't know where that came about."
I'm still sick over the death of that poor 16yr old high school girl killed by that disgusting scum murderer in Colorado and now this!
I don't think this janitor should be getting slammed. It looks like he took a shot gun away , the kid kept running, and while he was trying to call 911, he saw him reaching in his clothes and yelled a warning that he "might" have another gun. It's very sad about the principal but this man has nothing to live with. He and the principal probably prevented other kids from being killed today. They stopped him before he got to where he was going.
Thanks for the update. I just got home from work. Prayers up for the families.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to take a moment and give credit to Freeper MyGirlsMom, who gave the first heads up about this situation on the Wisconsin Locale board this morning. (I probably should've mentioned this sooner.)
Thank you for taking the time to let us know what was going on, Mygirlsmom.
"You may not like stereotypes but when was the last school shooting perpetrated by your head cheerleader."
If that comment doesn't scream out for that Katie Couric jumping cheerleader pix, I don't know what does!
Somebody needs to get right on that, LOL!
Prayers up for his family...
Oh and his name is Mr. Thompson. Mr. Dave Thompson.
No "credit" due here, Liberty. I wish I would not have had to have been the bearer of such sad news. Prayers for Principal Klang's family and the community of Cazenovia.
Prayers.
I understand what you mean, and I too wish this hadn't of happened...
