To the amusement of the usually FReeper "poll-freaks" our locally and very "bi-partisan" miami herald keeps on with its agenda for the "ass-naut" cadet b.n.'s campaign, which I call a pipe dream!

But it is also helping the so called "conservative" FReeper's negative to get their daily political orgasm!!

It is similar to the bashing going on with our Miami Dolphins, and probably they will now send their B-team to New England next Sunday playing the Patriots, because they don't stand a chance to win. They might as well stay home and not show up!!!

If the election was 30 weeks away I would agree with you completely. But it's 30 days away, and Harris is trailing badly in the polls and the national party has written her off. Nobody is raising money for her, she's depending on Matthews and Hardball to get air time. If this is way to early then when do you begin to worry?

It is interesting when one gets practical about election politics. Clearly the problem with Harris is that she will get almost no Democrats to vote for her, and she does terribly among independants. She does pretty well with Republicans, but what Republican wouldn't? IF she were running against Russ Feingold, she might have a prayer. Nelson, whose poll numbers were very weak six months ago, is not a polarizing figure. Harris is and always will be. Harris lost in the middle before she ever started. That was what she was told by Rove, Gov. Bush and Ken Mehlman.

She should have quit. But she goes to speak in front of Republican Ladies clubs, and she is adored. All I can think is that her ego craves it so, she is willing to spend $10 million of her father and grandfather's money so she can play the game a little longer. Her political career is over and she has no one but herself to blame.

Why the party is not backing her is a mystery to me...

In a politcal world with infinite resources, you would be right. Giving her money and people would be as effective as tossing same over the lip of the grand canyon. It is not the Republican Party's fault she is going to lose. She is the candidate. I will vote for her. She will lose huge. Big frickin surprise to everyone without a brain.
