When you see the effects of the overpopulation population scare (e.g., whole nations of people disappearing in Europe), think of the harm that pseudo science or global warming will cause. Forty years ago Liberals crackpots were propagating a fear of a coming Ice Age. The baleful effects of Liberalism are hard to underestimate. Some day well wonder how anyone could have been so gullible as to believe that not having enough progeny to sustain a country for the future was a wise social policy or a public service. This crackpot theory certainly received a welcome audience when it combined with the selfishness of the Me generation. And it really explains the pacifism of the non-religious Europeans. If there is no afterlife, if youve no offspring to defend, if your nation is dying out, why aggressively defend your way of life? You could get killed. And since this is all there is, why bother fighting anyone. Just eek out your life as well as you can.

We are going to have a population bomb. Shortly, we are going to have the same number of non working retirees taking SS benefits as we have workers paying into the system.
The coming cash crunch of SS is going to bring a whole new meaning to generational conflict.

I am a "population bomb" all by myself.
9 kids, 17 grandkids (& still counting)
But of the last 5, only one is in the U.S. The others are Canadian, Russian and Israeli.
FRmail me to be added or removed from this Judaic/pro-Israel/Russian Jewry ping list.
Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.

I have just begun reading Steyn's book. It is a magnificient read, and, if he is correct, Western Civilization is in deep KimChi.
Moslems (I refuse! to use the word "Muslim") are breeders, and they are breeding terrorists faster than Western Civilization can civilize (or kill) them.
I highly recommend his book and commend him for writing it and Regnery for publishing it.
Pick up a copy of "America Alone; The End of the World as We Know It" and pay attention to what he says. It is that important.

While I think a growing population is a problem abortion isn't a solution, its murder. If we all want to live in nice houses with backyards we can't keep growing forever.
Cut welfare, and stop all illegal immigration and we'll be at less than 2 per mother.

"we are beginning to be crushed under the weight of our own quality-of-life degradation."I felt this way when we hit 200 million. For that extra 100 million souls we pay in a thousand small ways, with the loss of things which can hardly be explained to those who missed them.

Perhaps people ought to use widely available birth control rather than murder their unborn children.

No overpopulation at all. In fact, many countries do not have enough people to work.
