But an exclusive poll indicates that Shelley Sekula-Gibbs may pull off a political upset and win her write-in campaign for Congress.

Don't forget to vote before leaving on your trip. Your daughter too!

Be sure that if some of the ballots will be written badly (but the intent of the voter is clear), Rats (supported by the Media) will arrive to the SCOTUS in order to invalidate the result.

Let me add that with the eSlate machines used in Harris County and I think at least one other county in CD 22, "Write-in" appears as one of the three choices. When voters select write-in, they are directed to a screen where they must dial a wheel that lights up characters and hit enter for each character.

At which point, we get a full, proper special election with everyone on the ballot with no BS...hence the reason why they didn't go ahead as planned with having a dem/green write in candidate named 'gibbs' on the ballot as well.

Here are the very specific instructions for voting for Shelley Sekula-Gibbs (widow of local news anchor Sylvan Rodriguez), which walks you through the process of the write-in.

**Note: Straight-ticket R will not vote Sekula-Gibbs in. There is one vote for the special election for the rest of 2006, which contains her name, and one vote for the General Election for 2007 onward, in which her name must be written in.

This will take you step-by-step through the process. It can be printed out, if need be. Be sure to click the "next" on each page to see all the steps and the ballot write-in demo.

Here's a sample ballot of all:

To be sure: if the Dems can't win at the ballot box even after all the stunts they and their media allies have pulled (esp. the "Houston Comical"), then they will resort to the usual courthouse tactics. Let's hope Shelley wins big!

Can't people take a piece of paper with her name written on it so all they have to do is copy it down. That does not seem to difficult if that is allowed. I think that people are making too much out of having to write her name down. I could see if difficult if you are unable to take papers in the voting booth with you, but it is not like its an exam. lol.

This is a surprise only to the RATS and MSM.

Democrats are so despised in Texas, it is quite funny that they thought they would win Delays seat, a conservative seat in a conservative state.

It will be quite fun to see demRATS dispppointed on elections, when they fail to realise their hopes of capturing control of congress.

I think if they wrote Shelly or Shelley or Shellie it should all count. Voter 'intent' would be easy to understand, even if we have to go through all that crap again, courts, etc... No doubt if she wins it will be contested.

If control of the House is on the line and this election is close, can you imagine the army of rat lawyers from CA and NY that will descend on Sugarland to try to get all the write-in votes thrown out that they possibly can? What a circus that would be!!!!

It's reality. You should check in with it once in a while.

What about the current Dem seats that we could possibly win?

"then they will resort to the usual courthouse tactics."

That is going to happen nationwide with any seat important to the dems. Count on it.

Yep, a circus we've seen before. Except they would have to argue the exact opposite of what they argued in 2000.

Well, I certainly have no argument on that.

I think you, and many others who have written off this race, are missing a very big point....

The huge advantage the GOP has in registered voters....

Yes, despite all efforts in campaign spending, voter education, and even an upcoming visit from Pres. Bush, a certain percentage of people will remain ignorant of the write-in process.

However, that does not mean those people (especially Republican voters) will punch Lampson's name by default. Instead, the entire race will more likely be SKIPPED.

Given the GOP's inherent registration advantage in TX22, only **enough** people need to be educated about Gibbs and writing-in her game. If I had the inclination, I could work this out as a math equation, using this poll data and district registration.. but suffice it to say, this is very do-able. And with Bush's upcoming visit, even more people will be made are of the write-in candidate.

The problem is that little fly-wheel thing you have to spin around for each and every letter of a long name. Takes forever, like using an old rotary phone and the dial always going back to the top each time.

That does seem like a pain. However, hopefully people will think that ensuring a Republican congressmen is in that district is important and that the added time and perhaps frustration to do this will end up being worth it.
