As far as I am concerned it is good riddance.

"Two days after losing a bid for a second term, Sen. Lincoln Chafee said he was unsure whether he would remain a Republican."
Gee. I'm shocked.

"Since he lost his bid for re-election, what good is it going to do him to switch parties?"
Good point. What do we care which side he'll vote on in the next local election where he lives.

(Democrats support a fair voting process in the same way they 'support' the troops.)

The best.
I wonder if there's another Reagan out there. Sure do miss him.

I guess he'll go back to shoeing horses again as a blacksmith. (Yes, that is his actual occupation.)

See ya Lincoln, you sissy fool... don't let the senate door hit you in the a$$ on the way out.

...really just a formality....

Ms. Chafee sits down to pee. What a limp wimp. He belongs elsewhere.

This guy hasn't a clue. What makes him think the Dems give a rat's ass about him? They just waxed him.
Does he think there aren't plenty of lifetime Dems waiting for their chance at a political office?
For him to be talking this way about Republicans after the help they gave him is beyond betrayal. We won't want him back.
Lots of luck as an independent if you want to run for anything again. Meanwhile, get a day job.

Does he actually think he's got a future even if he does switch parties?
I mean, I guess he can run for R.I. Governor in 4 years as a D, kinda like Lowell Weiker ran as an I for Gov. of Conneticut after losing his Senate Seat as an R.
But whatever. The guy's a joke either way.

Sen. Lincoln Chafee said he was unsure whether he would remain a Republican. Uh...senator Chafee...could you explain what relevance you or your party identification have at this point?

Actuall, what difference does it make, since he LOST HIS ELECTION? What does anybody care if he's an unemployed republican or an unemployed democrat?
Politically, it makes very little difference. It does make a great deal of difference when it comes to the credibility of a dozen or so of the usual suspects around here who were ready to throw solidly conservative freepers overboard for suggesting that Chafee didn't deserve our support and that the RNC had made a hunge blunder.

These are the bastards who halted all our momentum after the 04 elections.
Get the hell out you trader. Take McCain with you while you're at it.
