What about the mom? not only is the child comforted but I beleive the mom is to. My wife is extremely affraid to fly I'm certain that if she were suckling her child she would feel much more at ease.
Lets say it should be private for all people to eat. It would be very inconveient. In a society that drive thru's and fast food are the norm we are all about conveinience. Women should not be stripped of that right just because they have a baby. Nor should the baby be stripped of it's right to eat and bond with it's mother whenever it needs to. If more women breastfed, then maybe there would be more well adjusted people that would have less of a problem with it. Change the trend, that is the only answer.
I dont believe that they see a sexual overtone...that is why they have a problem with it.
I guess she should breastfeed just like you. Maybe you could hold a clinic and show women the right way to breastfeed without offending ANYONE.
She sat at the back and with a window seat. I beleive she was offended because she felt she did enough taht she didnt need to be told to do more. In my opinion she already did too much.
It is amazing how you can ignore how comfortable she was with it. Why shouldn't you be? As for surreal viewing the grand canyon is also but I wouldn't change a thing.
I once was at a nude beach near where I live and a father took his 6 or 7 year old daughter on a surfboard out a couple hundred yards where the dolphins were and they began swimming around them. Talk about surreal. That has to be one of the most beutiful things I have witnessed in my entire life. I feel sad that too many people are not able to see life this way. In a way they are blind to beauty and innocence.
I feel sorry for you.
I'm glad you were afforded the right to make that decision for your child.
You mean breasts are for feeding infants? I had thought they were for...
22 months?
My first thought exactly! My kids were experts at solid food by that time in their life! They would have already checked out the fast food counters before we ever even got on the plane!
Most people that are soo offended that they would kick a nursing mother off a plane do work VERY hard at being offended.
Any rational person would have accepted the blanket; sounds to me that somebody devised a plan to win the 'liberal lottery'.
I read through your posts and they're bent in a negative direction.
If you want to be on this forum, it would be nice if you could find something pleasant to say or a kinder format when posting to the folks here.
Otherwise I wonder why you bothered to sign on.
????? Because you're a retard?
As for the rest of your point, all I can say is that you and I have extremely different views of what constitutes surreal, and our world view in general. The times I have been to the Grand Canyon I never once thought that viewing it was surreal. Rather, I was in awe of the magesty of God and the beauty of His creation. People tend to view things as surreal when they don't have a basis of understanding about God and how incredibly complex the universe He created is.
As far as your other annecdote regarding the nude beach, I'm sorry, but I don't see beauty or innocence in that. I see people trying to feed their basest instincts and trying to justify bucking the norms of society as somehow being more "enlightened" than others. Not buying it.
