"So, all Federal funding will be withheld from San Fran schools now, right? "
Yep, it should be. San Francisco schools can get their own damn funding. They made their choice. Now let them live with it.
I call it blackmailing. For instance, federal fundings are used for subsidies for medical treatment for homeless (and we all know that SF is a poor city - morally and fiscally) - and you want to cut these funds because of the decision of the school board?? Cutting fundings without a relation to the actual disagreement is blackmailing, and thus silly and unpatriotic in my honest opinion. But obviously, that´s just me.
Good night.
I hope everyone will contact these traitors and voice your outrage.
We have "banned" SF from any more of our vacation destinations.

My daughter is in a JROTC program and it has helped with her self confidence, our ability to relate to each other, her endurance. She is not lost in boy crazy as much as some of her peers, and she values the truth and knows how to say ma'am and sir.
Miracles. Miracles.
But last year, she came to me and said, Dad I want to go to church. We had never been church going folks but, this was like a gift from God because she was struggling so. JROTC gave her the means to do this and make it happen. So now we all are exploring a richer world than we ever had before.
Not bad eh.
Yep,.... first the ROTC banned at the institutes of higher indoctrination, then Boy Scouts banned, then Military Recruiters banned, then the Battleship berthing as a veteran's tribute and memorial is banned, and now JROTC is banned. Wonder what's next to be banned by these SinFreakSicko loonies??
Well I hope everyone will email the mayor, council AND the veterans offices in SF and voice their outrage.
I have already done so!
The buffoons in SF have obviously forgotten if not for the United States military they would be speaking Japanese today!

It is my personal wish that they reap a bumper crop.
The reaping should begn sometime after June.
The article and this thread are about supporting/opposing the U.S. military through the JROTC program. This is not about Bush, or about Bush's supporters. It is also not about the school board's authority -- they had the authority and they made their decision. Posters here simply think that the board made the wrong decision. It's not complicated.
Call to action.

First I would like to say please forgive me for my typo's, grammer and not putting the periods and coma's in the right place. I did get a couple of peope that got bugged about my writing skills. However with that said , living in the liberal Bay Area as I do........San Fran Sicko maybe all your federal dollars that go to the schools should be taken away from you!!!!!!!I guess they like this is the city, kids smoking crack, hookers, homeless, thugs and more. San Fran has LOST IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And Nancy Pelosi states"people like San Fran value" Hey Nancy not all of us who live in the Bay Area are rich and can afford to live where you do.
Nothing surprises me any more. But I guess they are in their rights if they do not wish to sponsor such a fine program. People who raise children and have a leaning toward having the kids get familiar with the military way of life, or just are getting sick of living SF, should attempt to get the hell out if they can. I realize however, that is often easier said then done.
Are you incapable to comprehend that or are are you just distracting from your silly proposal?
It's not silly at all... I didn't think that it had to be mentioned, since it was discussed in so many threads a while back, but maybe you just weren't aware of the law that prohibits federal funding to universities that ban ROTC from campus. There's no reason that law shouldn't be applied to highschools as well.
And as far as my proposal for ending all federal funding to SF, have you actually listened to the "agruments" of the people who wanted JROTC banned from the schools? Their disgust and hatred, not just of military institutions, but of the military itself, and those who join it, are eye-opening. I saw an interview on TV with one of those moonbats, and I could only think that the only reason she could say the things that she did was that the people she hates protect her right to say it. This wasn't a political or policy disagreement. This was out and out hatred.

I only took JROTC my freshman year in highschool, but it was something that I really enjoyed, and looking back on it, I learned quite a bit. In our classes (taught by a Sargeant Major - who took NO guff from anyone!) we learned American history from a different perspective than was being taught in the "regular" classes - rather than as an observer, to having a responsibility to the future of the country, teamwork, and leadership. And two seniors from a class of 12 (in JROTC) were accepted to West Point. One went there, the other to MIT.
