"FORD'S CEREMONY IS ON C-SPAN NOW, HE IS STILL ON THE SENATE SIDE, SO IT JUST STARTED"
I'm not seeing what you're seeing I don't think.
Hah! Does she have her hand over her heart or is she giving slick the elbow????
Thank you for the Dose, ((( GEM )))
LOL -- doesn't take an exceptional eye to spot his red face in a crowd, does it? LOL
Thanks, GEM. Sad day, but I'm so glad to see the depth of admiration for the life and times of Pres. Ford repeatedly stated today. He truly was a godsend to US .. a man of the people and for the people.
There was a theme that I think started with VP Cheney's eulogy and that progressed through the Republican speakers today .... emphasis on character and decency. How obviously in stark contrast these qualities, repeated so often today, loom when you compare the high caliber men and women in our party and those on the other side.
They were all totally true of this fine man, but I also wonder if there wasn't a method there, in preparation for what's to come.
Sadly, we'll be witnessing the contrast in bombastic living color, starting Thursday with *Lugosi's* control.
Here's Kissinger's eulogy:

I was totally struck reading it (I had difficulty understanding all of it as he was speaking), and have never seen him give such a human and emotional speech.
He was very moved, you could tell, which is unusual for him, and his choice of descriptives, the emotion was very stirring.
How wonderful that some of the stereotypical images of Pres. Ford as a bumbler and do nothing have been eradicated with the pronouncements of all his athletic achievements and the very sound bold and critical decisions he made in tumultuous times then. He was a strong, intelligent and very capable President.
A simple man from the Depression, he was a man of sterling character, rock solid American values and very brave and unselfish, truly placing love of country and others before any personal agenda.
There also was contrast and irony in the fact that he didn't run or fight for the job, subjecting himself to bitterly fought campaigns, raising money and adopting a competitive persona. It just befell him, like he was crowned by proximity .. such a rare event. And look what the pursuit of that high office does to so many other politicians, how they change.
But not W.
God bless Pres. Ford with peaceful rest in Heaven and his family with comfort and solace. We were all blessed by his life.
Poor Betty. She looked like she was about to break down many times during the ceremony.
The Bushes, in their usual gracious manner, gave the Fords full access to Blair House, and had them visit the WH last night. And that was a Presidential plane (one of the ones used as AF1) that flew then from CA to DC and then to Michigan.
I do like having a Presidential family that knows how to be kind to people.
LOL! You're likely right!
Methinks her heiney is saying to herself.......ha ha my pearls are bigger than your pearls nancy!
Watching the CSpan replay of the Ford services and just caught an endearing Rummy moment. It was a cute interplay between he and the military minder that had been assigned to shepherd the honorary pallbearers. He gave him a little sign of eye-to-eye contact and a salute in the momentary jumble of confusion as they were all lining up.
I love the visual of the Honor Guard lined up the steps. The checkerboard pattern shadowing the steps is just awesome. Wow.
Yes, that is Nancy R.
I notice Barbara Bush SR on way she check out Dubya walking BEtty Ford probably thinking that my son George
