I think they call it phased pulse array.
Supposed to have learned it from crashed spaceships.

I doubt spacecraft would be using jet fuel.
BTW, I was in the airline industry until very recently... and there is a LOT of buzz about the November 2006 Chicago airport UFO incident. Many pilots and ground personnel saw it. A lot of skeptics are now believers....

Not just the Blackbird.

Yes the SR-71 left them when it flew. Some problems termed "Un-start" aside, why would the SR-71 which used conventional, if very exotic in detail, axial flow turbojet engines, J58s, create such a "pulse" type trail. I never heard of the Blackbird creating such trails, and I've been following the SR since it was first revealed, and was still treated as a highly classified, but no longer completely "black", asset.

I have seen vapor trails criss-crossing the sky and then the sky is completely hazey so there is something to it. Vapor trails are mostly water vapor, they are dispersed by upper level winds and turbulence. However that "blurring" is much less regular than the "donuts on a rope" trails.

Usually some guy named bubba after a few beers but this was a little more reliable.
Like to see some radar tapes.

Sounds like a B-36 to me.

This is nothing more than a jet in need of a tuneup and some higher octane fuel. ROTFLMAO!
Jets just don't work that way. Jet A and JP-8 are pretty high octane to begin with, since they are essentially kerosene or light diesel fuel. Early jet fuels had more of a gasoline component, but not the current ones, ... except some "special fuels" for "special aircraft" such as that for the SR-71, which was actually lower volatility than standard jet fuel (it was used for cooling before being burnt).
Jets can have fuel and air flow problems but those are essentially unrelated to the "octane" of the fuel.

Those are shock diamonds, not engine pulses. It's a sort of standing wave effect, but the engines are running at steady state the whole time, even on short time scales. Turbo-jets, Turbo-fans, and turbo-props are all continuous combustion devices, unlike piston or even Wankel engines (Like in the Mazda RX-8) Although the Wankels are rotary engines. (I had one in a '73 RX-3 station wagon, it was a gas! Always wanted another one.)

BTW, there is a program on UFO encounters by professional pilots (Airline, military and astronauts) on the History Channel right now, just started at 10 PM Central.
Called something like "Black Box Secrets" of the UFOs
