It's probably best to turn it off. I find myself watching less and less every year, because it's just so full of garbage.
To: Brimack34
Yes, I found myself doing the same thing, news on the hour full of lies..also there were times when I watched the news during the evening meal that I gagged. It wasn't the food. Now cd's, freepers, sports, 24/7 with Rush..

By 2010 the media as we know it will no longer exist. E-media and independent news will be the standard. The olbermans and talking heads are on there way to oblivion and they all know it. People are increasingly thinking for themselves and getting media from multiple independent sources. They can't control us anymore and it kills them.

You and me both, Poppy! Wasn't it Elvis who got out his gun and shot his TV set? There's an idea!
'Course when I think on that, I recall an acquaintance I once knew who smashed his thumb with a screwdriver when working on his car engine - and he got his gun and shot the screwdriver.
Then I'd be like him and I don't wanna be.

Is the slumbering George finally awakening??? The elder Bush could vastly improve his media image by trotting all over the globe praising tyrants and apologizing for his country's existence.

"And so bad in fact that I found myself doing what I never should have done -- I talk back to the television set. And I said things that my mother wouldn't necessarily approve of," Bush's father said, according to a transcript of his remark. IMO, Father Bush 41 has always been an idealistic, decent guy. On the other hand, I've been cynical for years now. I believe democrats and the media are capable of any despical act.

... and said he found the criticism so unrelenting he sometimes talked back to his television set.I can relate to that ... my rants at the TV make my dog slink into the other room.

In an election widely seen as a referendum on Bush, Democrats in November captured both houses of the U.S. Congress. The MSM must be so relieved, finally, after six years they can write that sentence after an election.

Well, being a conservative Republican puts you behind the 8-ball to begin with, and while Tony Snow is adequate, Bush hasn't really had a good media man since Ari Fleischer quit.

Well President Bush Sr,
Tell your son to kick the lying media out of Iraq or at least check to see if Maliki would if we can't. Tell your son to start pressuring the DOJ to charge people leaking classified info and prosecute the media if they obstruct giving the names. Tell your son that sometimes telling the media where to shove it has some positive effects.

On my list of cable channels, CNN and its ilk aren't even an option - and I decided not to subscribe to ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. Cable is much more enjoyable that way! (And saves on nerf balls too!)

My wife told me to quit watching the news. It's bad for the BP, and she got tired of me giving the press the one fingered salute.

Yup..he literally took him into the family.
