I hope though that her life will be a quiet one, out of the limelight and cameras.

In time, she will. She has yet to discover those cute little Aussie boys!

[... She is adorable!! Anyone who finds fault with
this delightful 8 years old has a crust thicker than
mother earth...]

Bindi is a great role model for young girls. She'll
remain the darling as long as she appears to be political-
neutral. But I predict it won't be long before the
media gets her to say something derogatory about Bush
or the WOT.

[...Has she truly grieved for her father? ...]

Bindi said that some mornings she wakes up crying
and others she doesn't. Sounds like grieving to me.
She shouldn't be criticized for behaving with the
nature she was given ... natural joy and enthusiasm.

My Dad was "cleaning" all his guns when my sister's ex asked if he could marry her. We haven't seen the guns since, and that was 30 years ago. Heehehee

You missed my point. I am not criticizing the child. She's a delight as well as being a rather accomplished performer. I reiterate: my concern has to do with the possible, long-term effects that her "celebrity" may have on her psyche.

The issue is, the majority of children who are called upon to perform in their youth end up being significantly damaged adults. One could easily draw up a long list of people who fit into that category. Rehab centers are full of them, as a matter of fact.

There's no reason to assume that the nobility of Bindi's mission will somehow magically exempt her from similar damage. Children who are called upon to be "on" all the time simply do not have normal childhood experiences. At the minimum, their world views bear little resemblance to the reality most of us live in. And I'm afraid it would be naive of us to assume that the Bindi we see on camera is simply being her natural, little 8-year-old self. She appears to be a highly trained, highly disciplined interview subject. None of which is her fault. Nor is it normal.

Perhaps in time her mother will allow her to drop below the radar and have as normal a life as possible. For Bindi's sake, I hope so.

I think that they are being unfair being here.

I read your profile, and think that "here" is a pretty relative term. Why are you complaining when you aren't even HERE? LOL!

Has she truly grieved for her father? Does she ever have time to simply be a kid?

It looks to me that Bindi is doing pretty much the same things now as she was before her father's death.

Having a small amount of experience in this arena, I can tell you that kids usually just go on with their regular activities pretty well after they have experienced a death.

It is better for her to go on with her usual activities than to stay at home and just help with the zoo.
