If her lack of obeying the traffic laws had led to the death of your spouse, parent, or child, would you consider it a civil matter?

When you hit someone with your car and cause their death you are responsible under the lay. What's got them PO's is that when they played the black race card the cops didn't let her walk.
She did it, there were witnesses, and she needs to pay the price.
Anything but this would be discrimination!!!!!

Guess what Brandy... this ain't a movie production nor a music CD cutting session... reality BITES don't it? Actions have consequences. Too bad no one taught you properly.

-----------------------------------------------

She told people at the site that it was her fault, would you have done the same or are you just jumping on her because she's black and rich?

If it was an accident, yes. If she were drunk or high, then no. Can you tell me how her sitting in a jail cell will bring back my loved one??? Anger, rage, revenge, these are things that will destroy your soul, not make you feel better. If she is a decent person, then she will punish herself every day for the rest of her life. And from the sounds of things, she knows that she was at fault and admitted that.

So who was driving the car that hit the other car that killed the person? Was it Bush?

Well, if she wasn't black and rich we wouldn't even be talking about it.

She admitted it was her fault and someone died. I'm sure there's a legal protocol for this. Yikes.

I do know that a moment of inattentiveness is common and happens to all of us, but when these moments cause the death of someone usually there is a criminal price to pay.

That may very well be. I wonder if the penalty is typically severe? I confess that it bothers me to criminalize every accident that occurs. It seems to me that we aren't punishing bad guys that way, but punishing regular people who have a bit of bad luck.

Hit slightly differently, the car could very well have slid another way and the woman might still be alive. I feel for the woman's family, but is this justice?

No I'm not "jumping on her because she's black and rich."

My thinking is her team of lawyers will have ALL her post-crash comments insubmissible during a criminal trial (if it even goes to trial). Now that will be a travesty of justice.

For the record, I was pretty damn happy when WorldCom's Ebbers, Adelphia's Riggas, Enron's Skilling were kicked to the curb... the only thing that would have made me happier is if that POS Gary Winnick (of Global Crossing "fame") would have gotten his just deserts and made to wear nickle plated cuffs while doing a perp walk... but alas Ashcroft's Justice Dept. dropped the ball (along with the SEC). Maybe that chick that was head of HP's board of directors will get her chance to do the Martha Stewart thing in prison once she's tried for initiating the undercover snoop job she apparently initiated.

The phrases "big time sitcom star" and "on the WB" don't belong in the same sentence.
