My son and I saw the commercial and he didn't get it. "Stoopid" was his comment. Mine was pretty ambivalent. I'll just eat bite sized Snickers from now on to make sure I'm never in a position to have to live through the commercial's proposed experience.;-)

I found the Lays commercial to be much more offensive as a pandering load of PC BS. My son didn't get that one either until I asked him if he saw any white faces in the ad. Then he "got" it.

All in all, as SB's and the commercials go, it was very disappointing to have to sit through countless trailers for SeeBS shows. Ugh.

You're correct, move along. There are much more pressing issues to address.

Cheers,
SZ

Forget gay or straight. How disgusting is it to think that snatching a bite out of food that is halfway in someone else's mouth with your own mouth is funny? It's dog behavior. I would have slugged the mooch.

I get disgusted anytime I see two guys kissing. It doesn't matter who they are. I saw the commercial and was thought OMG when their lips touched. But, when they said do something manly, opened their shirts and started ripping the hair from their chest, that was funny as hell.

They DID think this throug. They wanted a controversial reaction they GOT a controversial reaction.

They just ASSUEMED that reaction equals sales.

The woman who thought that up should be fired.

So conservatives thought it was pro-gay, and the gay lobby thought it was anti-gay, and almost everybody thinks it was a stupid ad.

It was just stupid and gross to me. Even before they "kissed." They were chowing down on the Snickers like a couple of pigs. Of course, my nauseometer was already primed and ready from having watched a hot dog eating contest before the game. Bleh!

When the moment of truth came, my first-grader looked over at me and I looked over at him and we just shook our heads and moved on.

I guess I could see it as being humorous or at least an attempt at being humorous, but have you noticed how humorless a lot of our people have become? The anti-homos will jump on Mars and the pro-homos will jump on Mars and I suppose a boycott is in the works.

I won't buy Mars products because they're bad for my cholesterol.

That was so sad, especially when he actually jumped off the bridge.

I saw nothiing homophobic about it.

There is no such thing as homophobia. It is a made up word, coined to push an agenda.

Looked the other way to me; picture being worth 1,000 words, you know.

That ad made me want to puke! And from this day forward, that "chocolate" bar will forever look like something that rode down the hershey highway to me.

If it had been two bucks smooching would that have been animal abuse?

IOW don't buy snickers due to the danger of eating from another persons mouth...

Whoever thought this up should be fired,

Whoever signed off on this should go back to their university and demand a refund for any and all degrees recieved since they have no education to show for it.

"So, gays are offended that every man in America wasn't swooning over the sight of two guys kissing?"

Next year they'll show clips from the factory floor. Nothing like watching men packing fudge.

WTF were they thinking with that turkey?????

Perhaps they were under the impression that the "panties in a bunch" crowd on either side of the argument have better things to do with their time than whine about some candy bar ad.

Did you see the ad? It was hardly an advertisement for gays, in fact, it was the opposite, and very funny. As the headline says, it is anti-gay, if anything, but really no more than the normal reaction of two normal men to an uncomforable situation. Has everyone completely lost their sense of humor?

The ad played off gay panic. And a lot of the posters here are demonstrating their own.

Frankly, they sound like a lot of little girls, going, "Oooooh, isn't that icky?"

One of the other ads that was to air later (it was a longer campaign with different endings) had a 3rd man ask if he could join their Love Boat.
