Inability to predict consequences is a hallmark of liberalism.
How many "Impeach Bush" bumper stickers are on cars owned by people who actually want Cheney as President?
I think the homosexual groups saw this ad was going to be pulled for its homosexual content so they are trying to spin it as if it was an anti-homosexual message.
spin control.
Look for snickers to have naked woman eating candy bar ads in the near future to try and cure this fiasco.
The ad achieved it's intended result.
Two men, kissing on TV, and getting everyone talking about it. I can just hear the TV execs talking about it:
"How can we get a couple of dudes to go into a lip-lock and get away with it? Okay, they should be doing something manly...average joe, straight looking. I've got it! Have two 'dudes' inadvertantly suck the same candy bar! Brilliant!!"
Yep, absolutely anything should be permitted. /sarc
The message was supposed to be something like this:
Snickers are so good, so appealing, that the pursuit of a Snickers bar will have you doing things you wouldn't ordinarily do. But when they showed that "thing you wouldn't ordinarily do" as two men kissing, many people failed to get the message and instead just saw two men kissing.
The homosexual groups immediately saw that and reacted in a way that pushes their agenda to convince more people that homosexual behavior is normal, ordinary.
Heterosexuals, however, didn't get that message. Instead, the ad communicated that the company that makes Snickers supports homosexuals, because they showed two men kissing.

Why is Mars' humorous depiction of heterosexual men reacting perfectly normally in accordance with their sexual orientation construed as a slur against homosexuals for theirs? Are americans now restricted from seeing heterosexual men exhibiting basic traits consistent with their orientation in public? And is that not itself discrimination on the basis of sexual preference?
Looks like I'm gonna have to think about this one; trying to keep track of who's supposed to be offended by what now is making my head explode!
And here I thought it was just a totally innocuous joke. (Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be marketing directors. There's clearly just no winning for losing in that job now!)
I found the commercial rather "eewww" inducing on several levels. Just the aspect of somewhat lunging for some piece of food in someone else's mouth is gross and weird to me. Then, the liplock between two dudes is a heavy-duty stomach-churner. Altogether, the commercial just didn't appeal to me, to put it mildly.
But, yes, if Bob Hope swings around to kiss a gal, and kisses some dude by mistake, it IS funny. But, that's because we know Hope, and his reaction of shock and disgust would be humorous. This thing about eating food that's dangling from somebody's mouth, and a resulting liplock... ick! gross. not funny.
Free speech is not free. That's why it's going away - no one wants to bear the cost.
I thought the ad was hilarious and I'll keep on eating Snickers.
You should probably change your moniker to "Fire Island Pete"
I saw it. It was extremely offensive.
I think Peter Paul is more bisexual than gay. "Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't."
The whole gay/anti-gay thing aside, the spot was crude and offensive. Don't any of the suits at these companies look at these spots before they air and say, "How does disgusting my audience help me sell candy bars (or anything else)?"
RIGHT!
Real men don't kiss men on the lips, for Pete's sake!
These suits are probably the same types that have "blackface" parties at their frats in college and are shocked when the lib world falls on them.
Humor is in the mind of the viewer. What you call funny I call sick.
Whoever thought this up isnt playing with a full deck.
I disagree. I thought it was quite funny...and best of all, it was politically incorrect. That gives it a big thumbs up.
Oh please. That is all you can add to the debate? Asinine remarks? I guess because I dont see the far rights take on this commercial makes me gay? Did your mother drop you on your head a few times?
The homosexuals are trying to get ahead of the PR fiasco. They will now go to mars inc. for diversity and sensitivity MONEY.
The implication ATTeMPTED was that for a sinkers two normal men will engage in abnormal behavior.
the reaction was to imply absurdity to the "comfort" of doing what they did...(insert whatever implication or symbolism you want)
The homosexual groups don't care about anything other than money.
You nailed it perfectly, shempy.
