NOW we know why the MSM was pushing Guiliani.

the NYC centered MSM is anticipating this book. No wonder they don’t want Fred Thompson, it screws with they NYC mindset planning.

More GOP hit pieces to ensure Hillary or Obama become POTUS, and you people are still falling for it. Congrats you DNC lemmings.

Tell that to pharmboy who lost his concealed carry permit thanks to Rudy the thug. Tell that to the folks whose vehicles got seized by the Thug. Tell that to the property owners whose property was taken by the thug.

He is not a thug.

He was an elected politician.

Sure, you don't like his policies and I don't like some of them. But he's not a "thug".

What really troubles me is the footsie he plays with the mob via Kerik and how close Kerik came to be Homeland Security czar.

Rudy was briefed about Kerik's mob ties when Kerik was nominated to be NYC Police Chief. Rudy says he doesn't recall the briefing - a classic Clintonista-style dodge.

But either way, it's a serious negative against Rudy. He either didn't care (a big deal) or is lying about not recalling (a bigger deal). If he truly doesn't recall, why the hell not? Heck, if I were mayor and found out the next head of my police department might have mob ties, I'd want the guy to be subject to a full proctological exam. Not be so nonchalant about the briefing that I couldn't remember it a few years later.

his family ties to mobsters is an issue

In opposition to the Clintoon machine which can appropriately be termed a ‘mob of thugs’ I see this as a possible advantage. Rudy’s mob ties to Hitlery’s hit-men ties...sounds like an even match to me.

Know what the DUmmies and Kos Creeps call Republicans? Rethuglicans.

We apparently have some DUmmies at this site.

Yes we do, and they are all blasting Rudi non-stop because they are deathly afraid.

“Bernard Kerik has acknowledged his violations,” the statement said, “but this should be evaluated in light of his service to the United States of America and the city of New York.”

Hello kids!...it's Howdy Rudy time!

Rudy has impressed me as being a New York liberal elitist. He likes the spotlight and cameras, and is downplaying his liberal side.

We've had enough RINO's in office, and we sure don't need another just because he has name recognition and happened to be Mayor on 9/11.

I'll take Thompson, Hunter, Newt, or even Romney before I go for RudyJudy.

What I see is the same old antiRudy bunch behaving like coyotes and having themselves a lovefest as they pick through the bones of dead people.

Agreed. I’ll happily support a Republican candidate, but Rudy isn’t a Republican.

I’m opposed to Rudy’s candidacy because of his support for abortion. But why should we care about his father? Is it because Rudy glossed over his past?

Partly the “glossed over” issue, partly because of his current partner’s mob ties.

Forfeiture for those acquitted of a crime —

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9C05E1DB103DF930A15751C0A96F958260

Key excerpt: The seizures came as Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani hinted at how tough the crackdown might be, saying that even those ultimately acquitted of drunken driving in criminal court could still face the prospect of losing their cars through proceedings in civil courts.

‘’Let’s say somebody is acquitted, and it’s one of those acquittals in which the person was guilty, but there is just not quite enough evidence beyond a reasonable doubt,’’ the Mayor said. ‘’That might be a situation in which the car would still be forfeited.’’
