The “militia” dodge again. Here’s the relevant part: “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Everywhere in the Constitution, “the people” means all citizens of the United States. End of story.
Mr. Journalist who wants to abolish the Second Amendment,
Before publishing your column calling for the eradication of gun rights did you do all of the following?
a) Undergo a Federal background check to see if you should be allowed to exercise your First Amendment rights.
b) Fill out and sign an affidavit to testify that you should be allowed to exercise your First Amendment rights.
c) Wait for five days to cool down before you exercised your First Amendment rights.
d) Have your column writings tested by local authorities with a copy of your writing style on file. (Otherwise known as a ballistic fingerprinting)
e) Have the serial number of your column recorded with your name and address by local, state, and federal authorities.
f) Get fingerprinted by your local police.
g) Take a mandatory 16-hour Journalism Safety course.
h) Have your name and address published in the local newspaper stating that you had applied for a permit to carry your column around with you.
(In Ohio)
j) Are you required to keep your columns locked in a cabinet when not in use.
k) are you allowed to write only one column every 30 days?
So, I guess Congress needs to come up legislation for knife control, bat control, poison control, car control, fist control, pipe control, axe control, hammer control, ice pick control, rope control, gasoline control, bottle control, mind control, heart control, conscience control, and people control at the same time just to simultaneously cover all the bases for starters.
Gun control comes from practice. You fight as you are trained.

The only gun control we need is a steady hand and good aim.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
One of the nation's founders, George Mason, thought differently when he said, "I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials."
Funny, but not surprising that the “discuss” option no longer exists for this article...
hehehe...Don’t they realize the discussion really wasn’t going to be there, but right here!
Oh wait, I forgot...Silly me...
Too often.....from the anti-gun side.
Leave it to a liberal to "reason" that car registration shows that we should register guns, rather than that the lack of gun registration shows we don't need to register cars. Two different policies and they assume, without a moment's reflection, that the one involving government review of our lives is the right one and should be copied. I don't think liberals should be allowed to use a pen, typewriter, or computer. See, I can think like a liberal, too.
