I was told she wanted to run as vice president on the Democratic ticket

Bingo! Carrying the water for Dean, Soros and Kos, hoping to score brownie points for her political ambitions.

I actually heard this very same allegation on Iowa TV before I heard Sebelius' charges. When I heard it, I knew it was because of a concerted effort by some Democrat group sending out talking points.

Here in Iowa, the head of the National Guard has been trying to dispell the idea that they are not prepared.

The article is worded so that the last quote appears to be attributed to Tony Snow, when it certainly was uttered by Mr. Swigart.

“I cannot imagine her being re-elected. “

Nagin was re-elected! Marion Barry was re-elected in DC. Stupidity never ceaces to amaze me.

You know, the people somehow manage even when government is slowto act. About seventy years ago, the New London (Texas) school explosion rbought workers from oil rigs all over the East Texas Field to help out. That included my day who brought his whole crew from a nearby rig and set them to work looking for the dead and injured. He ever afterwards gave relgious to the Salvation Army because they arrived to help within two hours of the explosion. He never again gave to the Red Cross because they were late. Rather because of the reason they were late. My Dad was a drilling superintendent for a company that still employed more than a hundred men at the time. We were wll fixed, and my Dad had a big Chryslet sedan. A local politician knew my Dad and asked if he would drive the pol over to the airport at Tyler, about 30 miles away, to pick up a Red Cross official. My Dad agreed. They went to the airport and met the guy. My Dad was dressed in work clothes because he had been at the well trying to fix a problem. The Red Cross guy merely nodded when the pol introduced my Dad to him. They sat in the back talking business on the way to New London. Immmediately the Red Cross guy began to make financial demands. They argued all the way there and back. Finally the local pol, with some anger, agreed to the demands. He let the guy walk back into the airport by himself. He said, John did you hear what that SOB was saying? Yes my Dad said, My ears were burning all the way. His company had always contributed $500 a year to the Red Cross. Not a dime thereafter. They managed to extort a great deal of money from the locals, but the word got around.

I visted Greensburg last summer to look at a vehicle I was thinking of buying. I’m still in second hand contact with the guy I visited, the owner of a local car dealership. He did'nt mention anything about a “lack of response” from anyone. His only concern was trying to come up with a towns worth of cars that he could sell because everyone in town needs a new one. He lost his house and the dealership, and a bit of the stuff I looked at last summer, but is optimistic that they will be fine.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot do. This was CBS affiliate that did the “exclusive interview”, and interviews with victims are a must-have for network and cable TV news outlets. I suspect that Mr. Swigart’s position is representative of the townspeople as a whole. With Sebelius hollering about how inadequate the response was, asking interviewees if they agree with that should be a pretty standard question. Since they were there and Sebelius wasn’t, and since they’ve heard by now from the White House that Sebelius couldn’t even be bothered to request any of the additional assistance she claims was so desperately needed, they’ll probably put forth their thoughts on this topic even if they’re not asked.

She’s in her second term, and Kansas has term limits. As for the Senate, she could never beat Brownback or Roberts before this comment, and certainly not now.

The people of Kansas are not ignorant NOLA & DC welfare suckers. They know BS when they here it. They know political opportunists when they see them. She may have fooled them the 1st time, but there won’t be a #2.........

WHO IN THE HELL PUTS THESE IDIOT WOMEN INTO POWER?

good question. It doesn't make sense in flyover country that such leftists would gain power.

Greensburg is not New Orleans. Sounds like most of the folks in Greensburg know what work is and are more than willing to do a little - without the finger pointing, flavor building nonsense, and two to five year entitlement mentality while they, “get back on their feet”.

“That’s the sound of Sebelius’s political aspirations imploding.”

Knowing how the left is,I doubt it. Lefties will just claim Mike Swigart is a war-mongering, Bush supporting, Nazi pig. And they will claim it was the surrounding towns that helped Greensburg, not the Bush administration. To derail this, Bush probably needs records of phone calls to show if Sebelius asked for extra aid or not. Even that probably would`nt work.

When I saw her commenting on the disaster relief I thought how does she know that? She didn’t but the Democrats put out the words, “slam Bush” so she responded eagerly hoping to win brownie points from her keepers. Where do these liars come from, it’s almost as though the Dems are hatching pod people in the back room, the entire Democrat Party has gone completely mad thanks to Soros and his big bucks. I hope this causes her and the media more damage than they ever imagined.

Great to see this. Sebelius is an ignorant carpet-bagging RAT hack imported from Ohio because the KS RATS couldn’t find a candidate. She was elected by the urban RAT areas of the state and the leftist newspaper editors. As a Governor, she’s even more of an embarrassment than the RINO hack she replaced.
