This is the main border between San Diego and Tijuana. The largest and busiest border crossing in the world. 24 lanes of traffic.

is that for real?????? Why anyone would want to live there under those driving conditions is beyond me........

The traffic you see is all the time. Usually 45 min. to 90 min wait to cross.
Then you have the tens of thousands on foot who also cross each day.
There are thousands of Green card workers who cross everyday to work and they you have the drug traffic, criminals, etc.
I live near downtown San Diego which is around 20 miles north from this border.
This is the San Ysidro crossing
San Diego also has the Otay crossing just to the east of this one.

I like Hunter’s stance on the borders. I like what Tancredo has said about the war. These guys both deserve a lot of respect and support. Right now I’m leaning toward Hunter because of his military service. I’m OK with staying in Iraq if we’re doing it under the command of a president who’s son has fought there, and who would want to win the war quickly with whatever it takes. I’d like to see Hunter explain why he won’t be worrying day and night about The Hague the way Bush does.

Actually I’ve read some statements from way back from Hunter about the Hague/world court. I’ll try to find it again. He does NOT like it.

I lived in SoCal from 1976-2006. I never went to Mexico once. By the time I moved, we already HAD Mexico : )

And .. since the NEW FENCE went up .. San Diego has experienced a 50 PERCENT REDUCTION IN CRIME.
While the fence may not be perfect .. it has already shown it’s worth.
