“Sorry, doesn’t work, my grandchild is legal.”

So being legal is the only grounds for whether crimes towards you count?

That’s sick.

“You should be ashamed.”

I’m pretty satisfied with my position on the matter. You call someone’s integrity into question for being illegal, yet do not extend the same for a man who HIRES illegal immigrants and MAY BE A SEX OFFENDER.

I understand that you think he should face charges for hiring, yet you seem unfazed by what is, to me, the worse charge. Her status as an illegal is all that matters to you. That’s pretty sick, IMO.

Interesting that LB doesn’t think the employer’s character is in any way questionable, even though he is undeniably breaking the law as well by employing illegals.

Oh well, smart isn’t everything.

Since you've professed to being a mindreader, I'm surprised your clairvoyance didn't direct you to post 8.

If she were not here to begin with none of this would have happened. She needs to be deported and her employer should be fined/jailed according to law for any injury and for the illegal hiring.

“Since you’ve professed to being a mindreader, I’m surprised your clairvoyance didn’t direct you to post 8.”

My mistake. I assumed you thought that her charges must be false, since she was a lawbreaker, while simultaneosly implying that although he was a lawbreaker he was probably not guilty. Your later posts revealed that you didn’t care if the charges were true, since she is illegal.

I should not have assumed that you had a sense of humanity. That was my mistake, and I regret it.

Wow, besides deciding what I’m thinking, and accusing me of what I didn’t say, you are full of hyperbole, among other things. Your hystrionics don’t serve well for discourse.

Yeah, I agree with the ruling - she should be free to pursue her case from the other side of the border.

Oh well, that's what you get for assuming, you make an ass out of yourself.

You said my analogy with your grandchild was inacurate, because your grandchild is legal.

IOW, the difference is the residency status.

Your position as stated is that you want the sexual harassment charges dropped based on the fact that the potential victim committed a separate and unrelated crime.

Feel free to straighten me out if I have that wrong.

Probably the right ruling. Entering as an illegal alien is a misdemeanor (assuming you hadn't been previously deported), 8 U.S.C. 1325. Even so, misdemeanors don't forfeit one's right to be treated with dignity. The worst thing we could do to illegal aliens is give people carte blanche to take advantage of them by barring aliens from using our courts.

The punishment for being an illegal alien is deportation, a fine, and maybe prison. Letting private citizens sexually harass and humiliate them isn't an authorized punishment for being an illegal alien.

This is an example of the worst thing about illegal immigration - their illegal status renders them easily taken advantage of, since they're hesitant to ask for government intervention. The best thing we could do - for them - is tighten our borders, but make it easier to come across legally.

"Perkins should also be prosecuted for hiring an illegal worker."

Perkins might yet be in store for one or several suits when other employees figure out they may be entitled to treble damages if it can be proven the hiring of an illegal alien contributed to suppressing their wages/benefits.

“Jerri, Jerri, you’re so dramatic.”

Yeah, like the way I rephrased what you said! Total Dramarama!

What I like to do, after a drama fit, is beat up the illegals who work as water boys down at the Aramingo diner. It really helps to blow off some steam! They want to call the cops to press charges, but they can’t cuz they’ll be deported. Haha x2!!!

I know I can count on good people like you to come to my defense by 1. impugning their character and 2. dropping the assault charges!

Good points. While certainly I don’t advocate the abuse of another human being, I have difficulty with the idea of illegals utilizing our court system. While illegals should have human rights, at the same time are they entitled to our constitutional rights?

Since sexual harrassment is such an iffy thing in court, I’d deport the lady and prosecute the employer for hiring an illegal. He is obviously guilty on that one.

Prosecute him; then deport her.
