But for 9-11, Rudy would have remained an unpopular former mayor entitled to some small, begrudging acknowledgment of his efforts during the time the crime rate in NYC declined.

I lived in nyc for Rudy's entire tenure as mayor and I remember him limping badly to the finish line, finishing up his run as mayor with most people just tired of his act and presence on the scene.

The funny thing is, I recall reading some data in the last 2 years that suggests that his popularity really wasn't that bad before 9/11. Funny, I don't remember it that way at all, but the data is the data.

I suspect if 9/11 didn't happen, he probably would have gone on to become a partner and rainmaker for a major nyc law firm, and we never really would have heard much from him again. Of course, if 9/11 didn't happen, the GOP probably would have lost ground in the Senate & House in the 2002 election and Dubya would have been run out of DC in 2004.

Suck toes long enough, and it leaves a soft spot near the apex of your skull. Then one night, you pull down hard on some hot big toe and whoosh! the top of your head caves in and you start making political prognostications that ruin your career.

What nonsensical Bullshit!!
Bloomberg has roughly the same chance of being the President of the USA as I do. Maybe less.

it would behoove the Republican party to field a ticket that is clearly conservative

So, your solution is for the Republicans to field two completely unknown people to run for POTUS and VPOTUS?

I would not anticipate Bloomberg-Sharpton taking New York’s electoral votes even if it were legal....

Once again, toe sucker, DICK morris is on CRACK.

Northeastern gun-grabbing liberal maggot, gloomberg, has just about as much chance of winning high national office as his fellow inner-city yankee liberal scumbag comrade, Judy Ruliani.

"It would be great news for conservatives if Bloomberg ran.He would do for Hunter-Thompson-even Romney what Perot did for Clinton in 1992."

I agree with you. If there are any Republicans in Grenwich Village, Bloomberg might siphon those off, but that would be all.

IMHO he would have the worst effect on the Democrats. He reminds me of John Corzine more than anyone else.

Bloomberg would hammer Hillary in the Northeast and in Florida. He would hurt her badly in California.

I belive Rudy is the best guy to run agains Hillary however with Bloomberg we need someone who can win the south, west, Florida.

I belive we can win with Thompson if Bloomberg runs. Otherswise Rudy is the only one who can defeat Hillary.

John

Now, if I was one of the funny foot fetish guys, those are the feet I would have a fetish for.

Not all feet are created equal.

I think Bloomie running would be great. There is no way that Nancy boy is going to do well in the south and midwest. Also he would just take votes from Hillary in New York and New Jersey. The GOP would have a real shot at taking the northeast again.

Just think, Bloomberg’s supporters could be nicknamed “Bloomers”. The slogans could be endless.
Take your bloomers down to the polls! Pull your bloomers to Bloomberg’s campaign!

Would he need the south? If he wins NY, NJ, PA, MA, CT, RI, MD, DC, IL, CA, OH, MI, WS, MN, NV, WA, OR, HI all very possible for a social liberal/fiscal conservative how much more does he need.

but it did lower my opinion of DM

Hmm, which leaves me to wonder how you could have had an opinion of Dickie that had any room to be lowered. I don't think Morris would make a comment about stepping out to use the bathroom without an ulterior motive buried between the lines.
