‘Bush ESCALATED THE WAR during this dim majority... which will be a short-lived majority. We are not going anywhere.’

Maybe so, but we’ve got more years of Dem left than Bush. I hope you are right, but after your last election I am nervous at the prospect of your next presidential election.

‘I often find comments from fellow freepers with regard my country really touching and makes me proud of the solidarity our great nations share.’

Hear, hear. Well said that man!

What many US freepers forget is that Britain has two pro-war parties whereas the US a pro and an anti one.

We have been there from day one and will be there until the end, but that end date will be chosen by America, not by Britain.

Apology accepted! and might I add God Bless our FRiends in the United Kingdom. America can always count on our FRiends, the Brits. Sir Winston Churchill would be proud to know there are still a majority of people in Merry ‘ole England who believe in truth and freedom. btw, I do not know if you are from Great Britain, but if you are (and you don’t have to tell me) I appreciate you! Thanks, even if you happen not to be from England.

May your day and your family be Blessed!

“Talk to freeper David Osborne. He’s there now.”

Why?
There’s many freepers that have been there, myself included (3x).
This report is - as we say in Britain - a load of ol’ bollox!!!!

“I hope and pray you are correct...Leaving the job undone creates more chaos, from these terrorists. Witness the attacks in both of our nations.”

So what differentiates leaving the job ‘undone’ to it being done???

In my experience with the Iraqi people, even if the job was left ‘done’ it would be ‘undone’ within 5 yrs!

I would think Americans would remember the legacy of Harry Truman. Harry must have been a Republican, who ran with a D by his name. I do not recall the party he was supposed to be affiliated with. That party is not relevant in the present, and is not the party of President Harry Truman.

Harry would be giving the party of Democrats today _____
well you all know what I mean.

Neither you nor I can be certain of that. There are many more problems to be addressed in the ME. A solution will not be readily available within 20 years, regrettably. This is going to take a generation or two...unless nukes are introduced as a part of the solution. Then it will still take a generation or two. I am afraid those are the options I see. I hope and pray I am wrong.

Millions of us are working on making certain that dims lose... and they will lose. 3% approval rating tells it all! Even Bush is at 38 to 44 % approval.

Whatever is the most negative. That’s their definition of news. How can it be good for a society to mainline negativity every day?

I agree, it is in no way a certainty, but my gut feeling from my experiences there tells me i’m probably right.
Yes, it may take 20years for an available solution, so again, with talks of withdrawals, I fear i’m right.
I don’t claim to be a strategist of any kind, and I don’t see any way of preventing Iraq descending into chaos upon withdrawal

Ultimately I think if the Iraqis always go back into fractionalism after us expending tremendous resources to bring stability.. then we have to look at option 2, installing our own strongman. Letting him build up a powerbase of iraqis connected to his regime.. then let him take it from there, with us keeping bases there and intervening incase of a coup de tat.

Installing a Saddam-like strong-men and keeping him in power through our tax dollars and blood and treasure, eh? Is this to be the imperial future of our great American experiment in liberty? Thanks but no thanks. Those of us who support Ron Paul have a different vision, Rather than create just another cynical old-world empire, we support the limited governmnet principles of 76.

That's the same argument that the leftists used to make against welfare reform e.g. if we take peopel off the taxpayers teat, there will be mass starvation and riots. It didn't happen. It is time to et the Iraqis off welfare, and let them stand on their feet. The status quo (parliament just went fishing) ain't working.
