Marco
Ya, and they made it across Canada and down the Northwest Coast.... and then there are those mooring stones in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, and the eastern seaboard.
Then how about the Arizona turquiose in Egyptian tombs? How did it get there???
POLO
All true. Marco Polo sailed up and down the west coast of America and nearly reached Greenland via the route over Alaska before the Northwest Passage froze over.
“There have been digs on the east coast where artifacts show man traveled here from Europe 20,000 yrs ago.”
Have you got an example?
Solomon had gold mines in S America and N America, in particular California the site of the goldrush a couple thousand years later. He, and the Egyptians, sailed east to America.
Right on! So why do historians want to credit Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus with discovering the American continents? They were known about long before these 2 yahoos.
At the time about seven European powers were trading with the Americas and all were keeping their routes secret. The Portuguese had several trading posts in S America, and the English in N America. Norway had a blockade against all prohibiting sailing trade with N America but the English and others took their chances when they could. It was a hot claim and brought a revolution in the power of the Church.
It’s entirely political, or was. It doesn’t matter now, but at the time trade with America was vitally important to be kept secret. Columbus broke it all open, and in favor of Spain.
EVERYBODY discovered america first.
the Egyptians, the ancient Greeks, the Chinese it is just getting plain SILLY.

Just noticed I misspelled Columbus in the headline.
"Topper is an archaeological site located along the Savannah River in Allendale County, South Carolina in the United States. It is noted as the location of controversial artifacts believed by some archaeologists to indicate human habitation of the New World as far back as 50,000 years ago."
Thanks, Blam! Wasn’t there some American artifacts found in Europe suggesting they must of been here pre-Clovis?

Where do you get 20,000,000?
The United States of Polo?
Sure, why not?
Either way, it was an Italian. Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus or Amerigo Vespucci, for which the two continents are named. The only guy missing is Julius Caesar. I’m sure research will eventually show that Caesar got lost on his way to Sicily during the Punic Wars and wound up in the North End of Boston.
