Why didn’t the intruder take the laptop? Assuming there was even an intruder. The story has a certain smell to it. Does a woman sleep with their windows open? If your dogs wake you at night do you really ignore it? Do you keep your laptop unprotected by a password? Who prints out and works on a hard copy manuscript any more?
