I will support Fred because I can not support Rudy or Romney. There is no one else for us to vote for.

May be a bit long, but I can try tinkering with it later.

Thanks. :)

I believe you may be mistaken as to Fred’s definition of marriage.

He’s opposed to a constitutional amendment defining marriage as one man, one woman. He wants state governments to have the power to legalize sodomite marriage. This is supposed to be “federalism.” Only he’s not federalist when it comes to federal ethanol subsidies, federal funding of education, campaign finance laws, etc, etc. He’s only a “federalist” when it comes to protecting traditional marriage and unborn human life. Then all of sudden he “doesn’t have all the answers.” Just like he doesn’t have all the answers on whether it was “federalist” for the state of Florida to murder a crippled woman named Terri Schiavo.

Fred believes this and supports marriage as one man and one woman:

“Traditional American Values . A healthy society is predicated on belief in God; respect for all life; strong families centered on the institution of marriage—the union of a man and a woman;”

You’re going too far with what you say. He doesn’t “want” state governments to legalize sodomite marriage. What he wants is to support and defend the Constitutional principles this country was founded on. It is up to us to defend our liberties. I’ve heard Fred talk about this in video speeches and he does not say what you said.

There are no votes for this amendment that you speak of, that isn’t a president’s responsibility. You need to be working on members of Congress if that is what you want. Fred said he would support it if it was passed. He would use the bully pulpit to defend it. It isn’t practical until something is done about the Congress and that is up to voters.

Thompson On Gay Marriage: So Be It - "If a state chose to recognize it and the Governor signed off and signed it into legislation, so be it."

So be it?

Because Thompson says so?

How inspiring!

Not.

That's a great campaign slogan: "Vote for Fred! He doesn't have all the solutions!"

I'd love to find a politician who doesn't think he has all of the solutions. I'd be even happier if I could find one who could identify the right problems. Unfortunately, his support of campaign finance reform suggests that Mr. Thompson isn't that candidate. However, this slogan still sounds great.

I did and it is pretty clear to me that Fred says 'well that's your opinion Christopher.' There is no way he said 'no one asked...'

Here is one Conservative that has been behind him since the first rumors of his running became news. I am more solidly in his corner now.

PJ is truly a genius. Mark Twain of our time. Not as prolific but still what he says bears pondering.

My favorite PJ quote:

"Giving Congress money and power is like giving teenage boys whiskey and car keys"

"We have to make our case to the American people"

Who is this "we" he speaks of?

I think you are right - he said “well that’s your opinion...”

Take a close listen to the very end of the debate. After the applause at the very end of this clip, you can hear Crissy saying to Maria: “He knew Harper!” after which she says something like “Good job.”

Maybe Maria was aware he was going to pull the Harper suckerpunch.

“”We have to make our case to the American people”

Who is this “we” he speaks of?””

More than likely he means Republicans in general as a party, or perhaps the administration that he would run.

To reverse this situation we must reassess our national priorities and face the truth about what it will take to defend this country."

If I wasn't already in Fred's corner this one line alone would cause me to vote for him
