I called Senator Lenin’s office this morning and had to leave a recorded message. I thanked him for his signing of such a famous letter that is helping to earn so much money for such a worthy cause. I also thanked him for what I heard he’s doing - helping to match the winning bid and giving THAT money to the cause also.

And the snip doesn’t mention that Rush is matching the final bid. Does the article? I think THAT piece of info is very important!

Anyone have a quick list of the Dems who did not sign? I noticed that Evan Bayh, Maria Cantwell and Chucky Schumer were not there.

I wouldn't be surprised if the winner "wishes to remain anonymous",

I expect that the winner will want to be known. The second purpose of this auction is to poke the eye of the anti-Military senators who signed the letter....and you cannot get in a good eye-poke, if you remain anonymous.

I suspect that Rush would like to get the MSM involved Big-Time, in order to embarrass Hillary, Obama, Ted Kennedy et al.

There's more to it. Last Friday, iirc, Snerdly let through a woman caller referencing the SP epi.

Limbaugh cut the caller off in mid story.

Monday, Limbaugh said he "suspended" Snerdly for letting the woman through, and then filled in the "Couric" reference himself.

You’re right. It’s in alphabetical order but the leadership is first.

see post #882, Freeper "webschooner" went thru the bidding process and commented on the possiblities of fraudulent bidders:

Not Possible -- This auction is not run by bush league maroons -- All bidders for this high cost item are carefully vetted. I was a pre-approved bidder for this auction early on, and here is a copy of an email I received just after midnight:

This is a thank you to each and everyone who took the time to fill out the form to bid on the very special auction Rush had us list.

It has now surpassed $2 million. We have actually removed everyone but a few people who are still serious players in the bidding. If you were notified by us that you could bid, please note that unless you placed a bid successfully over $150,000, your approval is no longer valid. Given the $2 million level, we are requiring many additional items such as bank statements, deposits, signed and faxed forms, copy of your IDs, as well as other proof of income.

Many of you have kindly let us know it was too high, so please excuse this extra email. We are sending it out to everyone as an autoreply.

If you ever want to learn how Auction Cause helps fundraise and sell high profile items for the nonprofit of your choice, feel free to drop us a line or email. We cannot promise you a $2 million auction like Rush, but we will try.

Thank you all again, we enjoyed all the kind comments.

Best regards,

Eric Gazin
President of Auction Cause

If the high bidder is the Rush Limbaugh/EIB Museum of Broadcast Excellence, it might remain anonymous for some time.

Rush makes $30 million, has no children and only a few ex-wives. This is his favorite charity.

I suspect that Rush would like to get the MSM involved Big-Time, in order to embarrass Hillary, Obama, Ted Kennedy et al.

You have to have a conscience in order to be embarrassed, and while I can't speak for Obama, history shows that Kennedy and Hillary are both totally amoral, and can not be embarrassed. They're completely incapable of assuming responsibility for their actions, and immune to guilt of any sort.

Thank you for your activism, more of us need to do the same!

I would like to see someone start a thread dedicated to this type of activism. We could share our calls and letters to these senators and the MSM. I believe the silence of this historic moment has gone on too long.

As Rush has made his patriotic voice known to us, we should now make OUR voices known to the MSN and these 41 Senators.

We’re not talking about a golf club or a guitar.

This is far from a normal auction. This is a PR move and a snub to the Senate Dems and the MSM.

The people doing the bidding aren’t interested in keeping the price low - in fact they want to be as visible as possible but eBay’s recent policy changes mean the names/IDs are obscured.

The auction creator had the option to make bid amounts private (as they often are on high-priced items) but of course they didn’t.

The point is not getting a bargain - the point is pegging the price as high as it will go in order to attract the attention of everyone including (if they ever wake up) the MSM and of course the Dems.

Absolutely amazing. My mom and I were discussing this yesterday. We decided the MSM hasn’t figured out how to spin this yet, so they aren’t reporting on it. This article gives a clue.

They write the article as if Rush wasn’t in charge of the auction, and isn’t donating one red cent. They almost write it as if the Senators or Democrats are responsible for the auction, and as if they are “getting” Rush.

The thing is, it’s backfiring. Those people I know on the fence are getting infuriated by the baldface lying of the MSM.

In spite of the prequalification of bidders I think this auction is being spoofed by some DU type(s).

Then they are truly fools.

Their actions are giving Rush a lot of publicity and showing that he ALONE, instead of 41 vindictive, uninformed Senators, cares about soldiers and LEO's and is willing to show it and their hypocrisy to the world.

Anyone trying to spoof would receive tons of blowback excrementally-enriched publicity for their efforts and be exposed as a callous, uncaring elitist that would publicly dump on a legitimate charity to smear a political opponent.
