"the Senate majority leader embarrassed himself, his party and his cause."If Reid and his fellow Democrat politicians were capable of embarrassment--or shame--or truth for its own sake, for that matter--they would never show their faces again.
Evidently the same is true of the editorial board of the Palm Beach Post:
"Mr. Limbaugh...slams anyone whom he believes to be unpatriotic - that would be anyone who disagrees with him that the Iraq War was justified and is going splendidly - recently called U.S. active-duty personnel who oppose the war 'phony soldiers'."This is not true, and the editorial board of this newspaper has every expectation of knowing it. The truth is available to them as it is to everyone else.
It is true that Rush Limbaugh "slams anyone whom he believes to be unpatriotic".
It is not true--and the editorialists of the Palm Beach Post know it, whether or not they acknowledge the truth, to themselves or to other people--that Rush Limbaugh considers anyone unpatriotic who "disagrees with him that the Iraq War was justified and is going splendidly".
It is also untrue that Rush Limbaugh "called U.S. active-duty personnel who oppose the war 'phony soldiers'". He said something quite different.
If these so-called "journalists" want to know the truth, they can. It is available to them as it is to everyone.
The fact that they do not acknowledge the truth and do not speak the truth in this matter speaks volumes about them and about the U.S. "mainstream newsmedia" in general.
It is this mendacity that has earned the "mainstream newsmedia" and its so-called "journalists" the contempt of honest people.
This statement is also untrue:
"Whether he meant all such critics or just one is a tedious, unresolvable and ultimately pointless debate."
Rush Limbaugh's meaning is not unresolvable. His meaning is quite clear. But, for that matter, these editorialists could ask him for clarification.
Furthermore, this "debate" is by no means unresolvable, though one must agree that it is tedious but only because what he said and meant has been belabored by dishonest politicians and so-called "journalists".
It could be easily resolved by asking Limbaugh what he meant.
It could also be easily resolved by listening to what he said with honesty and a commitment of truth for its own sake.
They were excited (like chicken in a yard when one gets ahold of a morsel, all rush over there to try and grab it and run with it)
The MSM did the same with the purported Rush statements, never vetting them out first. Or worse, Knowing the charges were false, but printing anyway, purely for political traction.
Just one small point friend. Jesse McBitch is not and never has been a soldier, he is a punk. At best, he was a recruit, and obviously a damned crappy recruit since he didn't make it thru basic. My son, a Marine, and many other sons are soldiers (or Marines, or sailors, airmen, Coast Guardsmen). They have lived up to their obligations that they incurred when they signed on the bottom line and accepted the responsibility. I found Hairless Reid and my worthless senators, Karl Lenin and (She's hardly Li'l) Debbie Stabemall insulting to the troops. Sticking up for a punk like they did.
