Lab or retriever?

Don't eat the retriever, it will come back on you.

Da, I’ll have the slab of lab from column A. She’ll have the German shepherd pot pie,
and you can start us off with some Poodle with noodles.

My grannie was an Ohio hillbilly. We got Oppossum stew one evening when I was little. Didn’t know it until it was gone.

The term hot dog eating contest could get interesting there.
St Bernard anyone?

Sometimes it’s better not to ask questions and just enjoy the meal.

I don’t thing they needed to go quite as far away as Moscow to write this story....

Indeed. A friend of mine used to frequent a street vendor's tamale stand in Amarillo, Texas. The vendor had been doing business there for many years and seemed reputable, until he was busted for serving up dog and kitty tamales. My friend commented that they were "the best damned tamales" he had ever eaten.

The restaurant has been dogged by these rumors for days.

Now we know what happened to the dog that didn't bark.

I was in Romania in 1986 and was told — as a unconfirmed story (an urban legend?) that there had been a scandal when the Intercontinental Hotel’s top-floor restaurant (which was open only to foreigners) had been caught selling meat dishes made of human cadavers. Supposedly, one of the international medical students studying in Bucharest got sick and had his stomach pumped and the contents analyzed.

I never was able to find anything in writing about this so have no idea whether or not it was true.

"... Dog meat, properly prepared, is no different from any other meat. The problem is that you've been taught from infancy that a dog is "the family pet" or "man's best friend". What have you to say to the people of India about your eating cows?"

I don't have anything to say to the people of India about my eating cows because I'm not living in India eating their sacred cattle. Just like dog-eating primitives shouldn't be living here eating man's best friend. To eat a cow would be un-Hindu and therefore un-Indian. Just like eating a dog is un-American. That's why I don't live in India and eat porterhouse steaks. See how that works?

Thank you for illustrating precisely my point.

I’m not saying a word, we have butchered our own in the past, not in a car trunk but we did it at home.

Thank God I went back to #40 to see what you were talking about. :-)

And they're not.
This is about a restaurant in Russia, or didn't you notice, or do you live in Russia?

So you hate people that eat dog meat in the USA, you hate people that eat dog meat in other countries, it sounds a lot like you just hate people that do things other than what you do.
I hate to burst your bubble but the USA is not the world, no matter how much you wish it was.

When in Rome............to a degree.

That’s horrible. I’m afraid to eat ANYTHING that came from China. God only knows what’s in it. It’s not just the food. I want NOTHING made in China!
