At this point in time, we, in America are better able to fight the socialist than Europe, but; we are failing too. The overall principles of individual rights bestowed upon man by something greater than man is under constant assault - this is basically who Americans are.

Yes, Europe of today is weaker than ever.
Europe IS a political midget.
Europe IS a military maggot.
The economy of Europe is crippled.
However, Sarkozy marks the beginning of a new era.
But above all, Sarkozy is able to unite both parts of the Western World.

The man in that photo is almost surely a veteran of WW1. Imagine having served in the defense of your motherland in your early-20’s only to see foreign troops marching in your capital city in your early-40’s? Certainly he thought his world was coming to an end.
Sarkozy got elected on a conservative ideology while Iraq was burning down and blowing up. And so did Angela Merkel in Germany around the same time. They did not bow down to the media in both places. Sarkozy walked off the set of ‘60 Minutes’ after the gal asked him about his divorce. He had better things to do. A head of state that acts like one.
Sarkozy is the best thing that ever happened to France’s future.
The french outside of Paris are just like Americans outside NYC or LA.
France will learn, once again, there are real benefits to being a special friend to America.

It is so nice to here this from a foreign leader. All we ever hear from the American left is how the onus is on us to make everyone our friend. No one, it seems, is ever obligated to be kind to us, or to help us in any way. Maybe Sarkozy "gets it."
I’m done with the France bashing. This guy Sarkozy is for real.
As a European and as an uncompromising friend of the US, I would like to say that things happening here marks a new era in cross-Atlantic relations.
