Armin Webster's account of the attack on the US Embassy in Saigon.

And Here is Walter Cronkite's diatribe.

The post WWII Baby Boom generation was split in two and the one's who stayed home in pampered safety feared the return of those who risked all preserving that safety. It became the protester's crusade to denigrate the returning veteran's service to prevent them from using it politically and in career endeavors sucessfully. The Media shamelessly took the side of the protesters.....their audience; A mutual admiration society.

this is extraordinary news. This is GREAT news.

Here's what it is not: It is not Page A19 news.

That depends on what you think the function of page 1 is. The front page is a flier advertising the rest of the paper. The function of the paper as a whole is to make the reader think that tomorrow's newspaper will be important.

Thanks for that — the initial article was not mine, I found it while looking for the backstory about Gen. Giap (just in case I wasn’t clear — I certainly didn’t intend to make anyone think that was my work!!)

Interesting — so the military deaths in the past few years, with a war going on, is not even as many per year as we were used to in the 80s. Would that have anything to do with a reduction in troop numbers during those years?

Sometimes, after all these years, I want to let it go. But the media and Hollywood and the Democrat Party seem hell bent to damage our servicemen and women while they are succeeding in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I've met some young soldiers who train here at Pohakaloa, been on flights coming home from the mainland and hung out with Marines headed for Kaneohe and bump into ANG at the local drive in (Yes, we still have drive ins here). They're all normal, bright and personable individuals with a tough task before them and hopefully a successful future ahead. This generation of military deserves the full support of the citizenry now and in the future. Never again can the left be allowed to diminish their worth and sacrifice for ratings, polls and box office profits.

This includes those in Congress who seek to pull funding for our troops and allies, perpetuating turmoil in the Mid East for political gain at home.

Make each day Veterans Day
