I realize that Par, but as most of us living in liberal bastions know, legal and Constitutional, are not the same things.

"Are they properly stored?"

"If not under the your direct control, or under the direct control of some other person with the proper FID or LTC, all guns must be stored in a locked container or equipped with a tamper resistant mechanical lock or other safety device, properly engaged so as to render the gun inoperable by the owner or other lawfully authorized user. The penalty for each violation of this law can be severe: up to $10,000 in fines and ten years imprisonment in state prison, and revocation of your LTC or FID."

But, these gangbangers, most under 21, will skate on possession and storage charges, no LTC, possession of ammo, according to the cops. the goal is to "get guns off the street", but leave the bad people right where they are, all now with a new grudge.

They see guns as having magical powers, the evil is inherent in the gun and not in the mind of the person who would shoot another.

The communities themselves have to become strongly anti-gang, reach out to law enforcement pledging to finger gang members. -NutCrackerBoy

Spoken like a person who has never feared the retaliatory murder of oneself, and/or their family.

True enough. What do I know? I'm just giving an opinion.

The identities of informants, obviously, have to be protected. The bottom line is - the gangs have to be crushed. It is not possible without the people in the neighborhoods somehow lessening their obstruction and distrust.

IMHO, this is so wrong. Number one, it is a major abuse of authority. People will feel threatened with three cops standing at their front door, asking to come in and search their house. And, how will these people feel if they say, “No way!” They know they will go on a ‘list’ and will be ‘watched’. Might even have a search warrant issued against them, eh?

Second, there it goes, increment by increment. Our Constitution will be dissolved and our sovereignty stripped away.

I assume this comes with immunity for both the parents and kids from prosecution for whatever the police may find, as well as anything they find being off limits for use in obtaining a future warrant? And even then, NO! And being one of the 5% with the stones and Constitutional awareness to say “NO!” must never be able to be used as an index of suspicion.

It will be interesting to see how many people abdicate their responsibility as American citizens and let the cops in? How many people have no clue about the proper role of cops in society? How many have no clue of what the Constitution is let alone what it says?

Consensual searches are completely legal.

What constitutes "consensual"? If someone asks someone else for permission to do something, and the person being asked knows that the asker has the power to make his life miserable if he doesn't get what he wants', how genuine is any "consent"?

The defining term is "duress" as in "contracts made under duress are void on their face"

Best regards,

Police believe parents are so worried their teenagers will be caught up in gun violence that they'll be willing to allow police into their homes.

WOW!! What arrogance. What ego.

For the parents who go along with this,.... what stupidity.

Boston police will ask parents in high-crime areas to let detectives search their children's bedrooms for guns without warrants in a new anti-crime program.
Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

We've come a long way tovarsch from the 4th amdendment to: "If you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear."

Modest amounts of drugs like marijuana will simply be confiscated

and burned later??? "It's a way in which they can get a hold of the household and say, 'I don't want that in my house.'"

Or they could walk into the room and remove it themselves... modeled after one that began in 1994 in St. Louis and ended in 1999, partly because 'funding' ran out.

always a $$$ game...

Boston has successfully prosecuted about 8% of its homicides.

How does that compare with other cities that size?

from the article... If officers find drugs during a warrantless search, it will be up to them whether to make an arrest.
