I can’t imagine any of them would enthusiastically welcome with open arms a brothel owner and his endorsement, either.

He was for it but IIRC changed positions because of the mistakes made (killing innocent people, etc.). To my recollection, one of the only stances he has different than old conservatism (not this claptrap passing for conservatism now)

"Except for the Iraq issue of course, it seemed to me that some of the candidates at the you tube debate were already trying to sound a little more Ron Paulish."

Heheh, true, especially when Huckabee talked about abolishing the IRS. When everyone clapped at that I was thinking, man, talk about stealing Paul's thunder.

I found the quote,

Over the years, I've held pretty rigid all my beliefs, but I've changed my opinion about the death penalty. For federal purposes, I no longer believe in the death penalty. I believe it has been issued unjustly. If you're rich, you get away with it; if you're poor & you're from the inner city, you're more likely to be prosecuted & convicted. Today, with DNA evidence, there have been too many mistakes. So I am now opposed to the federal death penalty.

He doesn't seem to be opposed to individual states having the death penalty.

A third party candidate is the only way she will get elected.Paul doesn’t appeal to the hard left, but a bunch of ignorant gullible conservatives will vote for him.

Paul's not running as a third party candidate, so your premise is moot.

Please provide a source that Bush said if we were attacked by terrorists we would not go over and kick their behinds and stop them from being able to attack again.

Bush ran on a humble foreign policy, no nation-building. Of course, the foreign policy has changed as we were attacked by terrorists.

You're becoming just another lying liberal, EEE. Absolutely stupid to even imply the foreign policy is the same

Where did I lie? Did Mr. Bush not run on a humble foreign policy in 2000 or not?

Perhaps - and they will be laughed at and booed, and deservedly so, if they make the same anti-American, idiotic comments Paul does.

So you don't appreciate the possibility of Americans running for elective office thanks to Paul?

You want people to participate, but you're upset that they're not supporting the choice of the establishment. Am I clear on this?

The same foreign policy that Bush ran on in 2000?

First of all, 2000 is not 2008. A lot has happened these past seven years as you very well know. Advocating a pre-9/11 foreign policy (like going back to Clinton's "anti-terrorism" policies, for example) in a post-9/11 world is a recipe for disaster.

But, Paul goes beyond that. He isn't running on a "more humble" foreign policy like Bush did in 2000. Paul blames US policies for 9/11. He has said so many times. Just last debate he was prattling on about how our policies during the first Gulf War was why 9/11 happened. It's like listening to Noam Chomsky. Dr. Paul just doesn't get it about radical Islam.

A Ron Paul Presidency would hand Iraq over al-Qaeda and the Mullahs, allow Iran to go nuclear and basically give a green light to the Arabs to attack Israel and then us.

That is why he is so despised on Free Republic. Not to mention his flirtations with 9/11 Trutherism and his refusal to denounce the support he gets from neo-Nazi traitors.

No, the average donation is about $100. The polls are wrong.

I am guessing George Soros is somehow involved.

I don't think you really believe that. If you do, you're one pretty whacked-out conspiracy theorist. I think you're just attempting to smear Dr. Paul.

Dope pushers would never support Ron Paul. Ending the War on Drugs would put them right out of business.

Just a question. How are the polls wrong when they are pretty consistent across polling organizations? Where are they making their errors?

I do not know of many cut and run monkey Republicans when it comes to the war on terror..
Why would the party shift to that position?

No, I am not trying to smear Paul, and I hardly think it qualifies me as a “whacked out conspiracy theorist” as you accuse me of being simply by being suspicious of the funding of the man. However, I will openly state that I have little respect for Paul. I agree with him on a few issues. Other than that I think he would be an absolute disaster for the country and the world. Now, you may consider that honest opinion of mine as a “smear” of your beloved candidate if you choose, but it was simply intended as a statement of what I think.

The “smear” is making the baseless accusation that he is being funded by Soros. I personally have been donating $50 a month to his campaign since February, for a total of $500. There are many others out there who have donating similar amounts, but most have donated much less. Do you really think somebody could redistribute that much money to that many people and have them both honor their commitement to donate to his campaign and not tell anyone in the press about it? All of his campaign money is clean money from ordinary people, and until you can prove otherwise, you’re engaging in a descpicable smear campaign. If you want to oppose him based on the issues, that’s fine, but that’s not what you’re doing and you know it.

I said most, not all. Guess they did not teach you to read at Libetard school. When the pinger posts his ping list and 5 of the first 6 are banned, it is quite obvious he is trying to pump up the imaginary support for Paul here on FR. Do you send out letters via mail when you know the recipients are not there to receive them?

A combination of factors. Many of Ron Paul's supporters tend to be younger or previously politically inactive, so they don’t make the lists of “likely Republican voters”. Many are small-government independents who are disgusted with big-government Republicans, or Republicans who didn’t vote in 2004 for the same reason, so again they aren’t considered “likely Republican voters”. EEE had a post a couple days ago that had more details on the subject.
