Are you saying that business is not well at the BK??? Whatever! The business was well, until the salmonella in the fish infected it; then it wasn't well any more.
I understand the antibiotcs in the beef do have it on the mend, and it will be healthy again soon.
How that only affected her position, she never said.

however bad they think their lives are, things might be EVEN WORSE if what they think SHOULD have happened had actually happened. Ahhh, yes; the halcyon days of Jimmah Catarrh that I spent catching fish to eat, buying molting chickens & rabbits at the small-animal auction to either cull or resell later, seriously gardening, hustling day-labor jobs at local farms; all to keep us fed & housed.
Then we got a stinking, evil Republican in office, who put an end to all those Democrat Rolling Good Times, and made me have to accept a full time job, pay taxes, save money, buy property, build a house...and sell it for a profit, to buy a bigger, better place...invest, and retire early so I could go back to fishing.
Those were REALLY disastrous times!

I say raise them back up and give tax breaks to the poor and only the poor!
I'm sure this has been said, but it is painfully obvious that you are slow, dimwitted, and outright stupid, so here goes: The poor don't pay taxes so giving them a tax break amounts to a zero net gain.
What the, ahem, author meant to write is: "raise taxes and have the government give money to the poor." Another name for this kind of thinking is socialism.

I feel your pain b/c I’m in the same boat. And, if I may add, paying full costs for college, which is itself another socialist boondoggle.

I say raise them back up and give tax breaks to the poor and only the poor! How, exactly, do you give tax breaks to people who don't pay taxes? If you don't earn enough to pay taxes, you don't pay taxes. If you buy food with food stamps, no taxes, even in states that have sales tax on food. And if you get laid off from a Burger King, it's because of you, not them.
I'd never disparage anyone who works a job, any job, anyone. You need to make some changes in your life. My advise: Don't do the job they are paying you for; do the job that pays more than what you are making. You will end up getting paid for that job. Do that long enough and you'll be surprised how quickly you start making a good living.
Then, Grasshopper, you will understand what tax cuts mean to hard working people who actually do pay taxes.

I think that the problem isn't that the poor need "tax relief." The problem is that "the poor" (TM) aren't sufficiently motivated (in many cases) to become less poor. In fact, with ideas like the one espoused by heartsafire, there's actually an enticement for the poor to stay poor. What they really need is motivation. Unfortunately I can't remember where I heard this idea in order to give the proper credit, so all I can do is say that I didn't think of this... I think that we need a progressive income tax, where certain members of the population pay more than others... So, I say that "the poor" (TM) should be paying the highest tax rates. As workers make more and more money, they should be paying LOWER tax rates. The more you make, the lower the percentage you pay, being "allowed" to keep more and more of your hard earned money. This will be a terrific incentive for people to work harder to earn more, and would motivate people in the lower income classes to improve their job skills to get a better job.
