I have to say I’m rather enjoying this, even though the stench of this whole primary has my eyes watering. The irony in this whole thing is that if the Romney supporters had their eyes open and realized they were backing a faking liar calling himself a conservative, and backed one of the real conservatives in the race, Duncan or Fred, we would likely not be in this situation.

I’m 100% certain that Fred would still be in had he even Placed or Shown in Iowa or South Carolina, and would be kicking butt and taking names today. But instead we have Romneybots whining because they are getting out maneuvered by McCain. IMO they were his biggest detractor because they knew he was a real conservative, they were the ones who preached the “lazy” and “fire in the belly” bullcrap. There isn’t this much entertainment in all of Hollywood!

Stick to posting your article. The additonal link is not from this thread.

The RealClearPolitics article states that "amid rumours of a deal between backers of Huckabee and McCain...."

Your addition to the title states that Huckabee and McCain personally colluded, as if it's fact, and theRealPolitics article does not state that.

I don't think that's right, and it makes FR look inaccurate and sloppy.

BTW, keep in mind this wasn’t done by the candidates. It was done by voters who don’t like Romney.

It is what it is. It’s not illegal ... and it’s not cricket.

By the way, good luck in your new political party (your tagline). Good luck in recruiting ex-nominee McCain, Huckster and the ex-TV actor.

“It’s not cheating but it’s dirty backroom politics. Exactly what you’d expect from the Rino establishment.”

I wish the conservative candidates would try a little back room wheeling and dealing. Our candidates play too nice-nice, and this is the result. As much as I don’t like the tactics, and I don’t like McCain and Huckabee, this is how you play the game. McCain is playing to win the election, and Romney better have some strategy to counter it, and not just crying “fowl” after the fact.

ALL the McCain voters went to Huck even though their candidate was still in.

Actually some McCain voters voted McCain in the second round.

But why are you surprised that McCain voters would want Romney to lose?

I’m learning more and more about the Rombots every day. I thought conservatives played by the rules. Looks like that’s only the case when the win. If they lose, it’s not “fare.”

Great humor!

It's time to stop the two-headed RINO!

Agreed but I'm not optimistic. McCain will do anything underhanded to win and Huckabee believes he's doing God's service by keeping the Mormon from winning even if it means collusion. Weird election season.

“It has to be disappointing for the Romney campaign to spend so much gold for yet another silver,” McCain spokesman Brian Rogers told Mike Allen.

LINE OF THE DAY!

Actually, I was just watching Hardball with Chris Matthews, and they were showing a map of W. Virginia with a banner over it saying “Huckabee Steals Votes from Romney.”

Interesting. If there’s nothing wrong with collusion, ethically as well as with respect to the party rules, then why don’t McCain and Huckabee keep denying it?

The GOP WV Convention works just like the College of Cardinals electing a Pope - who knew?

Yeah but I'd rather have McCain's liberalism than Romney's liberalism. At least you know where McCain stands plus he has a dry sense of humor to boot.

And if McCain is the Republican nominee, the best I'm going to do for the GOP is to vote third party. Better to have a post-menopausal, socialist lesbian as POTUS than a visibly-diseased, patently psychotic RINO.

If Mac wins the nominee, the MSM is going to beat him like a red-headed stepchild. All the questions they've been holding back will suddenly be splashed above the fold on every paper in the country: "Senator McCain, what is that ugly growth so obvious on the side of your neck???" Senator is there any truth to the charge by Senate colleagues that your a pompus, arrogant blowhard??".

Well that proves it.

MSNBC is in the tank for Romney.

It is clear that McCain is willing to do whatever necessary to deny Romney success. Nothing new or surprising about that...it's just hard core politics.

I do believe a lot of conservatives will not like it...but we shall just have to see.

Romney was my 3rd choice so I am not happy about the election cycle in general because there are no true conservatives in the fight.

I do believe Romney is a better choice than either Huckabee or McCain...and recognize full well that that is my opinion and choice. Others, particularly tin this election cycle, are certainly going to choose differently.

Just the same, I believe Romney will come out of today better off than most thought...in spite of the tag teaming.
