I had the dubious distinction of being aboard her in '89. met quite a few of the GM's. A 1,250 pound projectile from 25 miles out is a nice way of reaching out and touching someone.
From the CNN story:
"It's a group of ships that will operate in the vicinity for a while and as the ships in our Navy do, the presence is important," Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Thursday.
"It isn't meant to send any stronger signal than that," he said. "But it does signal that we're engaged and we are going to be in the vicinity, and that's a very important part of the world."
"They" must be shaking in their boots, this being the umpteenth such "signal" deployment in the past 30 years off the coast of Syria.
They don't have to. They can reach out an touch someone even from homeport.
Well...in that context.
Well...in that context.
what about civilian casualties?
you do know that hezbollah scum hide among innocent civilians and in underground tunnels, don’t you?
they are best prepared against all regular military attacks.
these ppl fight dirty and can’t lose. they receive training by super-terrorist who spend their lives studying US military tactics.
So you’ll end up with mainly civilian casualties, destroyed infrastructure, and an undeterred hezbollah moral!!!
