Why? What has she got that we want ? Give the illegal Mexicans some more Social Security? Give some more Serbs countries away to the muslims? Show me anything that she’s done or said to secure our borders. She’s a bigger liberal than Bush. As for Norquist, he, Bush, Rice...all the same, Waspman.

Even to consider a woman in such a position at this time is crazy, especially Hillary. It’s crazy for Rice to be Sec. of State in these times. We have to have someone representing us who they can respect, I didn’t say like, I said respect, and that will never be a woman in the muslim world.

She would be a good choice.

Granted, the mere fact that she would be McCain’s running mate would cause my opinion of her to go down a bit, but I’m already mad at her about her (and State’s) soft line toward the Pal’s. She’d have to distance herself from her own policy, believably, to win me back. How you do that is beyond me.

But the election isn’t going to turn on me, obviously, or McCain wouldn’t be the front man. Rice as VP would do a lot to suck the wind out of the DNC’s sails. It would be fun watching them try to run against her.

I don't like it either, but since I think McCain's going to lose, the only thing that would be useful about it is to give the Rats something to fight about. Whoever loses the Clinton-Obama fight can say to the winning side, "Well, even Republicans can nominate a woman/black!"

That would be the REAL dream ticket, a while male, and a black female.

While I would like someone who is totally against abortion, at least Rice is more pro life than so many of the other choices,

And the lady is SMART and TOUGH. And yet, she has so many foreign heads of state eating out of her hand. They are enchanted by the charming Condi. No, I’m not saying she can win them all, but no one ever has.

Ya musta mist when I said this part:"I used to think she'd be good, but as of late I'm losing confidence in her..."

Actually, I guess I shoulda said "lost!" Not "losing!!!"

So then, should she be chosen, it’s agreed we will have one more reason not to vote for Captain McQueeg...

I’m surprised the obvious hasn’t been noted:

If Hillary loses the nomination, her supporters can still vote for a woman, and if Obama loses, his supporters can still vote for a black.

That's the way I see it! My almost being forced to vote for Romney here in CA was about all the further I could compromise and that was partly a reaction to all the evangelical BS about him belonging to the wrong religion which I believe should have NO place in an American election process!!!

So, yes! If he picks Condi while he's traveling around right now campaigning with Romney, it'll just reinforce my abject contempt of McCain who should certainly be knowing better than all the crappola he's spoutin as a supposed "conservative!" He's just as big a CONservative as Arnoiled Schwartzenswindler!!!

I personally believe the joker is just plain wrong for America! He's only fractionally less wrong than the other two and that just ain't good enough, so I'm voting for Ralph Nader and for a real Greenie, instead of a fake one!!! (even though I despise the way Greenie's are screwin up everything and makin everything cost more and more and more...)

If McCain does win, McCain needs to do what Bush failed to do -— bring in a whole new team and clean out the old.

That would include him too, right?

I'm all over that one. :)

We’ll take your black man and white woman, and trump them with our own black woman... eat that identity politics.

“What she has done is imlpement the agenda set by the Oval Office.”

What I heard is that the State Department has been fighting the Oval Office tooth and nail, when they weren’t subverting it. Going on what I know of them, I’d be surprised if that weren’t true.

The Republican who long ago called her a “glorified russian studies professor” was right on the money.

NO WAY.

She has proven herself an incompetent in leadership since she lost control of the state department.

So the question becomes: Can a liberal dolk like McCain tolerate a conservative black woman for a running mate?

No, but he could tolerate Rice. A conservative black woman is a subject for another thread.

There are many diplomatic missions that are understood to be for show only.

this is why she was sent to the middle east by her state department desk jockey superiors. (GWBush does NOT control the state depatment the state department is now off on its own)
