I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. We love you.

Thank you, I appreciate that.

I just hope the media leaves the Irwins alone.

Women make better widows than men, widowers.

When it's all said and done .. we men wrestle alligators all day long and comprehend the mathematics of death ....

until we lose a piece of our existence.

We keep punching the proper numbers into the calculater and hitting the 'equals' button ... but all we ever get is 7734.

Scratching our heads thinking wtf ... the only way to read it is upside down ... realizing we're inverted, and the world looks at us with strange looks .. we withdraw or bury ourselves in work.

Every day when we look in the mirror and see we haven't shaved in 4 days, the image reflected is, 7734.

I might write a book someday ....

or maybe not.

I hear you on that one. My 2 year old son died in 1992 from leukemia, and I became distant from people for awhile. 18 years later, I am better, but still distant and less patient about things.

I don't know what happened, but would guess that he had borrowed a lot of money to grow his empire, and his death killed his primary revenue stream for servicing the debt.

He probably should have had a large life insurance policy to protect his family, but it probably would have been a pretty expensive policy.
