Hillary Clinton (through her proud affiliation with the Children's Defense Fund) and her ilk believe that children should have the rights of adults, and should be able to litigate against their parents in the legal system, represented by attorneys that would be paid for by the parents.

This is an excerpted passage from an article published by the American Life League which has an obvious agenda, but is accurate in its description of the agenda of the Children's Defense Fund nonetheless:

The so-called Children's Defense Fund is intimately connected to a social anomaly which took root in the heydays of the radical left in the 1960s - THE CHILDREN'S RIGHTS MOVEMENT. Both Mrs. Edelman and her husband Peter were contributors to the movement's most influential handbook, The Children's Rights Movement - Overcoming the Oppression of Young People, edited by Beatrice and Ronald Gross (1977).

In his brief essay, "The Children's Rights Movement," Peter Edelman, then director of the New York State Division for Youth, states that the goal of the movement is remove the historic "chattel" status of children, to extend to them some, but not all, adult rights, and improve government programs involving children. He states that until recently, "the children protected up till now are the unusual ones - exceptional children, minorities, or nonconformists." As for the movement's future he states it is still "unclear what rights one applies from the adult sphere and what modifications are necessary. The full dimensions of protection the child needs from his own parents are also unclear, as is the balance between parents, professionals, and children in a variety of institutions." Mrs. Edelman's essay "We Are Failing Our Children," is simply a self-tribute to the Children's Defense Fund and its alleged goal of speeding up the "achievement of rights and services for children."

While the Edelmans treat "children's rights" in a somewhat generic fashion, other contributors spell out those "rights" in a more forthright and honest fashion.

Among the "birthrights" listed by psychologist Richard Farson, president of the Esalen Institute are the "right to self-determination," "the right to alternative home environments" ("Parents are not always good for their children; 4 million are abused annually"), and the "right to sexual freedom" ("Children should have the right to conduct their sexual lives with no more restriction than adults").

The Youth Liberation of Ann Arbor essay demands the power to determine their own destiny, full access to all civil and human rights, and the right of "sexual self determination," including the right to be "heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, or transexual."

Among the handbook resource listings provided by Dean Calabrese is a pedophile group called the Childhood Sensuality Circle based in El Cajon, California which says it's interested in "children's liberation, particularly in the area of sexual freedom."

Have you ever, ever heard anything more revolting or ill conceived???

There ya go. That would end a lot of this nonsense right quick. But, you see, we lack civility, you and I.

“I hope they get sentenced to juvenile detention until they are 18 then given a choice. 10 years in jail or 4 years in the Army...”

These brutish girls deserve punishment, but serving in the United States Army should not be construed as such. The U.S. Army deserves better than that and should not be a dumping ground for criminals.

They are not eligible for Darwin awards, since all of them will likely reproduce.

Lol, I’m not clear on all the qualifications for Darwin awards. I was assuming in these cases that spectacularly stupid and ultimately self-destructive behavior would qualify them.

Maybe someone has to kill themselves to win Darwins?

“I would not jump to conclusions about their parents. Teens do stupid things especially in a group setting. Group influence on a teen’s behavior can be an enormous factor.”

With behavior this animalistic and heartless, I think there has to be at least a lot of parental neglect that’s turning out daughters who resort to such brutal behavior over what someone else said about them. And, who knows, the parents might encourage such revenge taking. We had the recent case of a parent involved with the myspace or facebook hoax that led a fragile girl to commit suicide after being dropped by the internet boyfriend made up by the mother and daughter.

They either have to kill themselves in their stupidity, and not have produced any children, or else injured themselves in such a manner that they cannot reproduce. If they manage to have offspring, then the faulty genes are still out there to be stupid again, so they are disqualified.
