I am starting to think the Dems have jumped the shark on this election.
They are so confident that they are spewing higher personal taxes, higher corporate taxes, higher taxes on gas/oil, limits on profits, and limits on CEO pay.
Are we as Americans so stupid to think that we can penalize employers without impunity? Are we so stupid to think that the way to LOWER energy costs is by raising taxes? Are we so ignorant that we think higher personal taxes will only affect the “rich”?
It boggles my mind.
Then my Dad comes to town (a Marxist) and says this stuff and calls it “fact”. He honestly believes that the Bush tax cuts made it so lower income people paid more in taxes individually and more as a percentage of revenues. He honestly believes Republicans caused 9/11 and went to Iraq for oil. He even believes Iraq and the middle east would be better off without us there. “Iran would clean up our mess.” He even thinks Chris Matthews is a Republican and Olberman is too far right.
It’s a sad f-ing world when my father’s world view, which sucks, is the world view of the mainstream Democrat establishment.
Now after all that, does this world view hold water with the majority? G-d help us if it does. I for one don’t believe for 1 second that these leeches in Congress are dumb enough to enact this as law. This is purely a political stunt and nothing more. They are the same people who supported tax cuts after 9/11 (twice) to stimulate the economy. When our necks were on the line, they did right. For the presidency, the are willing to let people suffer a little though.

If I replied to that candidly and publicly, the posting would be removed by the moderators, and I’d probably have to expect a visit by “the authorities”.

In fact it encourages increased costs. Six percent was the amount utilities in my area were allowed to make at one time. So, 6% of a larger number is more profit. Pay a secretary double the going rate, etc., to increase your costs to satisfy the regulators.

Dodd wants to drill. What are you talking about? He wants to drill socialist, marxist doctrine right up our rectums. I saw the prick, with Senator Shelby, be interviewed. The CNBC chick just laughed in his face. The dems are going to drill this economy right into the ground.
