Thanks! Sorry, no Middle Eastern pictures :-), although I was the Goa’uld Nirrti for Hallowe’en last year, in my purple Pakistani outfit and an orange turban.

And the best Star Wars movie was Empire Strikes Back, where the Empire won, Han was frozen and George Lucas was the least involved:)

“I’m a belly dancer (on hiatus ...) “

Is that anywhere near Tatooine?

hussein a jedi? Hardly.

We're not even sure what species he is, maybe a Neimoidian or possibly a Twi'lek.

Both unsavory species that would happily sell their own mothers/grandmothers into slavery.

This hearing sounds like waste of time and money.

Lucas is a sith for ruining his own movies. Vader as teenager with male pms and a limited vocabulary. Brilliant.

Hillary, Barry et al are the Sith.

Standards are pretty high on Tatooine. Hiatus is out in the sticks, where even short dancers with no ear for music who have babies all the time can get a gig.

To be fair, “democracy” and “republic” cannot mix (The Founding Fathers never wanted America to be a democracy, and clearly viewed that and a republic as being two completely different things).

Well, technically, Lucas DID model the bad guys after the Republicans since he apparently modeled Palpatine and the Empire after the leftists’ view of Richard Nixon’s administration (and this was even in his 1973 development notes for the first film, not to mention the storyboarding of Return of the Jedi. Heck, he actually based the Rebels on the Vietcong if the same draft is to be believed), and you don’t even need direct confirmation from Lucas that he modeled the Trade Federation in part on Republicans, or more specifically he based Viceroy Nute Gunray on both Newt Gingrich (that much is obvious from the name alone) and Ronald Reagan (mostly due to the SDI business where he blamed him for stealing the term “Star Wars” from him, no, Reagan didn’t do anything of the sort, Ted Kennedy and the leftist press you worship so much stole it to mock Reagan), and don’t get me started on Senator Lott Dodd, who was obviously based on Chris Lott.

Besides, some of the statements the Jedi adhere to, like truth “depending on your point of view” or how only Sith deal in absolutes, or stuff like that, aren’t exactly things Republicans believe in. RINOs, maybe, but not Republicans/Conservatives. If anything, they’re supposed to believe in absolute standards.

Nonetheless, it does definitely show Lucas is at the very least tone-deaf, if not has open contempt for American values (since I fail to see how Obama is even remotely a good person, especially when Lucas clearly was shilling for him when he compared him to a Jedi. Nice going, Lucas. You already ruined the Jedi with your Prequels, maybe also in Return of the Jedi with Obi-Wan’s “certain point of view” crap. Now you ruined them even further by comparing them to that jerk).

Well, Catholic priests/monks definitely would have wanted to be celebate (though they obviously didn’t cast aside emotion or individualism, unlike the Jedi).

I’m also hesitant to list “royals” and “anarchic” together, as royals at least believe in law and order, while anarchists don’t believe in that at all.

But I do agree with you overall, especially in light of the Rebels being based on the Vietcong per Lucas’ own admission, and the Empire was us Americans (not to mention the Jedi thanks to stuff Obi-Wan himself stated comes across as nihilistic).

Honestly, the Republic actually came across as destroyed by Tarsus Valorum after he had the Republic gut its own military in order to not become a conquering army in the EU. Tarsus Valorum is closer to Obama than Palpatine was especially in regards to destroying the Republic, turning it into essentially a bloated nanny state that was ineffectual and deeply corrupt, effectively a Space UN in all but name, especially in terms of a negative reputation, long before Palpatine EVER entered the picture. If anything, Palpatine arguably SAVED the Republic and truly restored it by turning it into the Empire. At least the Empire had its military back and didn’t let slavery be widespread on places like, say, Tatooine, unlike the Republic where it couldn’t even enforce its own laws without needing a committee.

But yes, Lucas definitely was a flaming lib, and he most certainly named Nute Gunray after those two. Heck, that wasn’t even the first time he tried to do something like that: He based Palpatine on Nixon (who unlike Obama at least ATTEMPTED to do good for America during his time in office and actually WIN a war decisively), and aside from that, he based the so-called heroes, the Rebel Alliance, on the Vietcong by his own admission (and unlike other times where he talks about his intentions via a self-serving memory, this actually IS backed up by development notes). Heck, he even implied at Cannes Film Festival 2005 that the Old Republic, aside from being based on the Weimar Republic and Roman Republic, was also based on Robespierre’s French Republic during the French Revolution, which if anything made the Old Republic in the Prequel Trilogy look even WORSE than it already was (let’s put it this way: Robespierre’s French Republic was much closer to Nazi Germany than it was to, say, the Weimar Republic in overall governance. If anything, Napoleon’s France was ultimately the better between the two, though it pales in comparison to King Louis XVI’s France.).
