I used to go in and edit Wikipedia articles on various subjects I've studied. Nary a complaint from them. Recently I made some edits that were not overtly political but reworded some things that were originally written down as accepted premises. I got an actual message (obviously tracked by IP) at the top of my page, with a "you have new messages" notification, asking that I not make any more changes of this nature.
Since then, I have decided I will no longer share any of my knowledge on that site, since anything scholarly that we write merely bolsters the credibility of Wikipedia as a whole.
If Wikipedia can come back with a forceful statement of neutrality and objectivity, and demonstrate this by their actions, I may reconsider. As it stands now, they are not objective, but committed to a specific worldview - one which I do not share.

Wikipedia is biased, especially on topics with a political slant. Anything you read should be treated with extreme skepticism.
