“I wonder how many desalination plants you could build for 9 billion..”

BINGO! WE HAVE A WINNER!

(I like the cogeneration nuclear power plants that not only desalinate ocean water but also generate electricity....can you say “no more blackouts or brownouts!”)

Why between offshore drilling and nuclear desalination/electrical generating plants along the CA coast; we could not only irrigate the entire CA desert for farming & ranching and feed the world but provide electricity for northern, central & south Americas! And all the while, every Californian would receive an annual royalty check for all the oil we sell just like the folks in AK do! Heck with all that revenue, we could probably eliminate the state income tax in the process!

But all the meatheads in Sacramento & D.C. are thinking about are "what fees & taxes we can raise..."

Maybe Mexico can pay for it since they claim they own Kalifornia.

I thought voters already approved bonds for water projects two years ago and Sacramento still wants to borrow MORE money? Oy vey!

Oh, that was just to get their greasy paws on some more cash. Remember, they never, ever, spend the money for the purpose sought.

Like highway funds.

How the $9.2 billion would be spent: ...

Wonderful. Now how the $9,2000,000,000 + interest going to be paid back? Their bond rating is scarcely AAA. As a result they have to pony up the bond yields to get people to buy. IOW, $9,2b over 20 years with a 5% yield...You do the math.

I was here today with Governor Schwarzenegger and Senator Perata as the Governor signed SB 1137. This bill is going to be very helpful to a number of people that are facing foreclosure. It requires lenders to talk to borrowers, to consider alternative options before facing foreclosure, and will ensure renters are given more time to vacate properties. It's going to be very good for our communities and for California.

We are so grateful for Governor Schwarzenegger coming to Florida to help us with the Climate Change Summit. The Governor is a great man who truly understands the importance of Climate Change, making sure that it stays front and center, and is a focus both for California, Florida, our country, and the planet.

What's wrong with you people?

Don't you know you can't desalinate your way to water independence?

(/typical stoopid lib argument)

More midget steroid madness with a Kopechne advisor speaking to a Jim Jones buddy (Feinstein).

The joke is nearly over, for us.

Only in California could the people be sold on the idea of borrowing $9 billion in order to get less of something.

This is reality.

Only in California could the people be sold on the idea of borrowing $9 billion.

Whether it's for preserving excessive spending, or bullet trains or water supplies; only in California.
