Some prince, I don’t remember from where, sent Ronald Reagan a baby elephant through the pet dept at Harrods. Her name was Gertie. The Reagans donated her to a CA zoo, IIRC.
Just googled, the prince was Albanian Prince Leka and Gertie went to the Sacramento Zoo. She was given to the Reagans in 1967. Wonder if she’s still alive?
Harrod’s used to have an Exotic Pets Dept. Maybe they still do; I haven’t been there in years as I don’t want to contribute any money to that crackpot Mohammad Al Fayed.

I am all in favor. In most cities, sidewalks are full of animal waste. Reducing pet populations would be a very good thing.

refusing to spay/neuter one’s pet always leads to a litter.
Bob Barker had requested before retiring last year that his replacement to “ The Price Is Right” annouce at the end of each show the same reminder to have your pets spayed or neutered.

You shouldn’t breed. It costs taxpayers thousands of dollars to put down animals...all because people are too lazy or cheap or selfish to get them fixed. It’s the responsible thing to do. There are cheap clinics popping up everywhere charging the average ot $25 to get your pet fixed with a $5 fee for rabies. In my county alone...they put down over 50 cats a day! That’ expensive and heartbreaking. And that’s nothing compared to how many are born every day in my county...homeless. Breeders are a selfish breed...and I’d like to spueter them! Be responsible...get your pet fixed!!!!
Is that you Bob Barker? Just kidding, I agree with you. There’s nothing sadder than to go into a shelter and see all those animals waiting for a home and wondering how many of them will make it out alive.
Unfortunately we don’t have those cheap spay/neuter services where I’m from. You just take it to the vet but it’s well worth the $70 it costs. If you take on an animal, you are responsible for them for life and that includes providing for them and their babies if they have any.
But as far as having a law, I’m totally against that. I hate government telling me what to do with my business.
I know what you mean about the government telling me what i can’t and can do. I’m sick and tired of them telling me I can’t drive at the speed I want. I’m responsible and know what I can handle and what is a good speed for me on what roads. I guess they make these laws to try to save lives?

Wait. If want to breed animals to sell or keep as pets you are “selfish”? Why. Cause there are already dogs and cats out there? Well there are already children out there, is it selfish to have your own, rather than adopt?
