You will be proven correct if McCain takes the oath next January, of course, because we have a template of reality to already show what is going to happen. I already had a tagline that said Freepers will be groaning from here to Council Bluffs in pain as he announces his cabinet officials one by one. "Well, AT LEAST we got Health and Human Services!!" some will rationalize, with egg all over their faces.

And few conservatives, at least here on FR, have a real plan in the event John McCain goes Total RINO on us, as is more than likely to occur.

They have only gotten as far as "he is better than Obama", but that is not enough in my long term political strategy book.

A plan needs to be in place within the Republican Party conservative ranks to pull the rug out completely from him were he to go liber/moderate on issues. But, when, as a faction, you are secured, bought off, co-opted and neutralized, you cannot construct such a plan against President McCain (R-RINO), and his only reaching across the aisle will be to conservatives to slap them in the face, or to throw strips of red meat (minor concessions) on occasion to keep them in the Big Tent. This is the essence of being politically used and being emasculate, not knowing one is totally screwed and enjoying every minute of it in ignorant bliss.

The RINO Country Club wing GOP strategists in the Eisenhower Building in D.C. (you know the ones who ignored us over illegal immigration despite floods of letters and dipping contributions) are truly BRILLIANT.

If McCain holds the White House and the Dems/RINOs hold the Congress, conservatives will be powerless for two years, at the minimum. And, if we get amnesty, conservatives will have just transformed themselves into an instant minority, except without special status protections.

Secretary of Defense, State, and HS - Chuck Norris.

That’s all we’d need.

I like both your choice of Romney for OMB. I hadn’t thought about it, but that would bring all agencies to their knees!

That is indeed the Trojan Horse, the Zip in the Wire, the cobra in the toilet bowl, that I truly fear. McCain, in power, will go full bore on Amnesty/Path to Citizenship for Gods Children (RINO/Dem alliance on the Hill will rubber stamp it), then the electoral shift will be complete and we are going to have liberal Democrat control for years to come, all out of stupid, Republican hispandering benevolence which borders on the (politically) suicidal. Do people really know this will happen, or is their fear of Obama—well founded but causing aberrant vision IMHO)—under McCain?

It's fear of Obama and fear of the unknown.

National Security Act of 1947 said that flag officers (O-7 and above) cannot be Secretary of Defense until 10 after they leave the military because they wanted the job to held by a civilian.

Amen to that. Wayne had the last laugh, though; if memory serves. Shame he didn't live to enjoy it...
