My grandmother was a young girl in the sixties when the ‘bee hive’ came into vogue.
You teased your hair as high as you could get it and sprayed it with hair spray. It was usually twisted into a french roll. That was a ‘bee hive’.
Sarah had apparently curled her hair and pinned it high on the back of her head. (curley pony tail) No teasing No hair spray.
It just looked big and high because she does have a lot of hair and it was curled for the occassion.

Nonexitent, right. This said, I’m not fashion plate. Nice jeans and a smart blazer is my uniform.
