Thank you! The Ramones are the bees knees!
For 1978, how about “You Needed Me” by Anne Murray? The song’s references to bringing order out of confusion and turning lies into truth made me think that it was actually about Calvin Coolidge and the 1924 presidential campaign.

1982 had a couple of good songs. And a lot of crap.
I remember the theme of the prom was "I've Loved These Days", which (I think) was a Billy Joel song, but I don't remember. Actually, I thought Jenny was later -- maybe it was the fall when I was in college.
Okay, just relax. The nurse will be here in just a minute with your next shot. That’s right, just hold your ‘blanky’ and suck your thumb. The Seventies were just a bad, bad dream. A nightmare really. Just a bad trip. A real bummer. So just lay back and close your eyes and all those bad feeling of the 70’s will disappear back into your subconscious!
I also like a completely different "Smoke on the Water" by Boyd Heath (Bluebird #33/0522, 1945):
"There'll be smoke on the water, on the land and on the sea,
When our army and navy overtake the enemy.
There'll be smoke on the mountain where the heathen gods stay,
And the sun that was rising will go down on that day."
Molly Hatchett and 38 Special will be performing at our National Fair here next month

All in all, it mostly sucked.
I remember that. Neil Diamond was on the soundtrack too. Not a bad movie, but lousy animation.
The song that made me want to dig up John Lennon and shoot him again...
From the same album, I think "Woman" was even worse.
“Starting Over” got more air time...and videos...***Shivers***
Yeah. I'd agree with that review. It was a Bakshi production, if I remember right ... not that I knew anything about the guy back then.
Yeah, he had done "Fritz The Cat," the first X-rated cartoon back in 1972. I remember as a nine year old reading the newspaper movie listings for "Fritz" and wanting to see it. Still haven't seen it, but I'll bet it was pretty tame by today's standards.
The majority of the film's animation was completed through rotoscoping, a process in which live actors are filmed and the subsequent footage is used for animators to draw over.
That’s pretty much how he operates. The Lord of the Rings “cartoon” was much the same. You could *see* the actors behind the animation in the crowd scenes, such as in the bar.
hahahaha lol there were indeed plenty of annoying songs in with the good ones.
Yah I went and saw Frampton on the Comes Alive tour (RFK Stadium). Triple bill with YES and some other band that I can’t remember for the life of me lol
I’d been a long time fan of R&B & coupled with being a dancer I had an appreciation for some of the rather good funk type “disco”. It wasn’t all silly gay stuff.
