Shelby is hitting some salient points- though I have to hear him say anything about the fault of Congress in this debacle.
I may have missed it- phone rang..
All this nation’s fighting and dying, some of which was done by my ancestors, and we’ve just exchanged one yoke for another....
Those things haven’t been ‘included’ yet...Wall Street is sure trying to get them included though.I hope the republicans come out swinging today and find their way back to conservatism!!
This is going to get ugly. Listening to Glenn Beck last night- and while he is a sky-is-falling kind of guy...he may have been more prescient than others in his warnings about this.
We’re in for hard times- no matter whether we do this damn bailout or not.
Y’all left me in the dust at the Daily Thread!!!! LOL
Mom, Mark Haynes on CNBC just offered his alternative to Hank’s bailout plan.
Mark’s proposal was to cover “Main Street” with credit and liquidity from now forward and let the financial institutions eat the debt that they’ve been giving away for years. IOW, let the people that made bad loans rise or fall, as they may. If they go under, so be it.
We'd survive another depression. Socialism will kill us.
johnson doesn’t sound too good..............
There just aren't words....
as someone who has not overextended themselves....I say HECK NO!
place holder
They are making a play to take down our economy...they have us at a checkmate because average citizens will lose everything if we say no to the deal...not just millionaires. If we say yes to the deal and except all of their provisions they still have us. If we say yes to the deal with no independent oversight...the next Dem congress will keep all the money and the assets.
He’s recovering from a major stroke and coma.
Actually, he’s lucky to be alive.
Whooops! Sorry :)
You’re here now though!
I heard Mark earlier- not sure about his idea- but he DID make a point earlier in the morning. He said do we care more about bailing out the people who created this...or democracy itself...
1. No beer before noon.
2. Only 3 beers a day.
Listening to this crap those rules are out the window today.
Student and car loan debt? Those amounts must be staggering! This is really stupid. The Republicans should be backing far away from this.
OMG!! Thanks for the link. Now we know why Goldman Sacs is the biggest money man for the dems and why they managed to get Paulson in the seat of the Treasury Train!
They KNEW the dems would go along with it! My question is why is President Bush going along with it? Do they have his head in a vise?
And replace capitalism with socialism.
God help us.
brain surgery wasn’t it? he didn’t come through without some deficits. this is the first time I have seen and heard him since his illness.......
LOL! People are disrupting the hearing.
