I don't have any high-risk funds.

Bashing the rich IS a favorite ploy of the commies and has been for over 100 years...check your history books.

There's no doubt that the Wall Street - Main Street class envy garbage is what commies love. Surprising to see people here so engaged in the very same types of tactics.

I have been conservative all my life! I have money in the stock market. Why does Rush want me to be screwed? Why does he want me to lose money?

What’s the matter with everybody???!!

If you believe this bill was the only way to save the American economy that's one thing, but if you want to increase federal spending to prop up your stocks you haven't been a conservative all your life.

That’s a little too easy to say when you aren’t watching your retirement fund sucked down the drain.

The people on this thread who are saying they would rather have the stock market crash instead of voting for socialism I bet had nothing to begin with in the market.

I was not for the bailout bill in it's current form but something needs to be done.

How are your bartering skills?

There are viable free market solutions to this problem. Repeal mark-to-market accounting rules, cut corporate income tax rates, cut cap gains tax rate on financial stocks and money will flow into the system...Not taxpayer money, private sector money.

I find your outlook and posts to be refreshing.

I read recently that the currently-retired generation is an anomaly, in that their retirement seems to be well-funded between Social Security, pensions and health care. Of course, just because it is in the media does not mean it us true. But it does seem that future generations, mine included, will not enjoy the same degree of “benefits” in years that are typically retirement-age.

Please thank your husband for his service.

good solutions that would have worked a year ago.
Heck - maybe a few weeks ago before Lehman’s collapsed.

Private sector money cannot flow into the economy if the private sector is cut off from the money.

I believe the ratings companies and the Wall Street banks knew full well that they were well beyond pushing the envelope in these AAA MBS securities. That is where the “greed and hubris” from my comment came from.

I worked for years on Wall Street before fleeing, because I simply could not take these “masters of the universe”, their games, and oftentimes their patent dishonesty.

What was the old saying about Wall Street - "It's a street with a river at one end and a cemetery at the other."
