The fact that the VP debate moderator has a book coming out, The Breakthrough -
Politics and Race in the Age of Obama to be published on the day of inauguration, does that strike anyone as unethical -- Having a financial stake in the outcome of the debate? I wonder why Ifill didn't tell anyone about the book?
The debate commission should immediately remove her as moderator.

This is outrageous! The first thing Sarah should do is ask Gwen Ifill if she believes in full disclosure of conflicts of interest. Then she should ask whether the moderator thinks she can be fair when she has an Obama biography coming out that is timed for release two weeks before Inauguration Day.
The viewing public, who are generally dumb as stones, needs to know that this debate is a set-up from the get-go.

Don’t worry Gwen, the Mocha Messiah will heal it with the touch of a fingertip......
Actually , he could probably do it from a distance with just a phone call....
But seriously folks, I fell down stairs last December, sliced the back of the top joint of my middle finger nearly off, and had to undergo months of hand therapy after the hand nearly paralyzed through the two months of watching, waiting, one attempted sew-it-back-on treatment,(unsuccessful) and one skin graft , taking triple thick skin plus pulp from my palm. ANything can happen when you fall down stairs. My problem was that my left hand involuntarily went up and grabbed the edge of a bare steel stud (like a knife), I’d just installed alongside the open stairway, and that’s what sliced into the back of the fingertip. I was just beginning to learn about Obama at the time, so I couldn’t consult him. I went to a hospital emergency room, and a plastic surgeon instead.

Although there was great excitement when she was announced, it is obvious she does not have the experience and is not capable of performing the important duties of vice-president
ial debate moderator.
She should take herself off the ticket stage.

We're told Ifill had been walking up a staircase, carrying research related to her moderating duties
Probably carrying a big box of her new books so she can get Biden to autograph them tonight.
Is it too late for the GOP to get Ann Coulter as a co-moderator to balance things out? Or maybe Jerome Corsi?

Oh, cripes...I broke my leg and went shopping the next day with a walking cast.
What the doc wouldn't let me do was go to my own "bon voyage party" THE SAME NIGHT OF THE BREAK...at a saloon....even if I put my leg up on the bar.
Called the boys...they said "no problem" and had the party without me. In the end, they threw me 6 parties....Did they love me...or just like to party???

We're told Ifill had been walking up a staircase, carrying research related to her moderating duties After the accident emergency workers found this book at the bottom of the stairs.

Ifill is planning to travel to Missouri for the big event.Ah, what a trooper!! It's not as though she has a financial stake in the outcome of this debate (and the election!) . . . . . . . . such as a book about Obama to be released on January 20, 2009!!

If you contact PBS, go to the yellow screen with the contact info and at the very bottom is the Ombudsman’s email. It would be nice to see them get bombarded by irate taxpayers for their biased choice of VP debate moderator.

Before the “ankle break” the book’s title was “Obama, How He Fooled A Nation”. Now it is a PRO Obama book.

This is a set-up. I doubt that she actually broke her ankle.
Ifill will now have an excuse to bow out of the debate gracefully, and defuse the growing controversy over her upcoming book.
But she won't have to admit that she might not be impartial.
